[After Guy's rather uneventful kidnapping right under their noses, Asch is feeling suitably irritated and downight volatile. He's trying to channel his temper into a more productive use, however; early in the day, he can be found stretched out on the lawn behind House 5, lying on his stomach and facing Star, the yellow cheagle. From the look of things, he's playing a rather bizarre game of fire Ping Pong with it- Star spits a fireball at him, and he uses his palm to either dissolve it or bat it back at the cheagle, who dodges deftly. Each time, Asch flicks a little treat in Star's direction, who munches it down before starting the cycle over again.

If one were to look closely, they might see a little flicker of light on Asch's palm right before the fire touches it. At his side are two swords, both sheathed; one, the Maestro sword, the other an unfamiliar katana. If caught in the moment he might actually look... relaxed, despite the situation. It's not going to last long, though.]

[Asch glances over at that, his expression questioning. There's plenty to find questionable in a place like Luceti, but he's not sure where to even begin to explain.]

I mean, I have been reading the guide about this place, so most of this I have understood on my own.

What I really question is the current situation, the announced kidnappings. What exactly... was the point?

[He hopes his expression shows a modicum of gratefulness, because he doesn't respond with more than a nod. He honestly doesn't know much about her strength, but Guy trusts her, so that means something.]

We're never told much about what's going on beyond the barrier. Most of the time I don't even care. I wouldn't have bothered volunteering to go if Guy hadn't been chosen from the start.

[Gods, she's sorry she asked.] ...Uhm. I don't really understand, but as long as you're not hurting yourself, or breaking your house, then I wish you the best of luck.

[She pauses.] ...Asch?

[GOD it's not even that hard, Miyabi, it's only basic fonic science and the artes of theoretical sentiences. >:|]

That's not true! I remember the first time we met, you drew what your home looked like. It was really very good. I can teach you to paint, though, if you'll let me. I'm sure it'll be really fun!

[...Rrrrrm. This sounds recreational and potentially embarrassing. "Fun" is not normally in his vocabulary. Then again, knowing Miyabi, she'll probably pester or tease him about it until he agrees.]

[Ah, you really are learning, Asch! She would have indeed done those things...or just hold you against your will. Miyabi beams, her aura brightening and she gives his cheek a hug.]

Thank you, Asch! I haven't had anyone to paint with in a really long time!!

[jkhhskjdhkf n-no hugging, you pipsqueak. He waves her off awkwardly.]

If you want to paint so badly, why didn't you just paint with Ammy in the first place?

[Her small smile persists.] See? I told him he was lucky. This just proves it.

[You know you like it, Asch, you tsundere. Also, Miyabi's giving him the driest look she can possibly make right now.]

I can never get a hold of her. If she's not at her tree, then I don't know where she is. I can't exactly chase her, you know.

What I'm talking about is I was telling Guy just the other day that he's fortune to have someone who gets so concerned over him. It's gotta be--y'know--touching. Nice, in its own warped kinda way.

[NEVER ADMITTING IT. He sends that deadpan look right back at her.]

Just find her some meat. She'll come running.

I can still learn! [He's almost tempted to run right up and hold out his hand to shake, but he won't. He just leans forward, desperately hoping for an agreement.] I'll listen... please, Asch?

I just mean...you're good to him, from what I can see. Always coming into the bar when he's unavailable and getting worried-face--well, as much as I think a straight-shooter like you ever can and--[a soft, inward smirk at the irony of straight-shooter.]

[...Goddammit, he didn't want to be put in this position. But no one understands hyperresonance like he does; if anyone is going to complete Luke's training, it's him or no one.]

[And Luke just lights up because of that, but he'll try not to make a big deal out of it. He wants to, but Asch doesn't like that, right?]
