[There isn't a lot that makes Asch wake so suddenly in the middle of the night, feeling sweaty and shaken. He's been having some difficulty sleeping the last couple of nights, but this is the first time it's actually woken him up. It's disturbed him enough to kill his desire to sleep, so rather than bother trying, he rolls over beneath the covers and stares at the wall for a while, mulling over the dream. Just what does it all mean? He knows he's not the only one going through all this.

What bothers him most though... is why did it feel like some of the dreams he'd had weren't even his?]

If he's so immature and clingy, how did he get engaged before you? [A teasing smirk.]

Obviously Xion likes immature and clingy guys. [She's as much of an idiot as he is; clearly they deserve each other.]

Hey, don't insult your brother's fiancée. There's only so far you can go. [She sighs. C'mon Asch picking on your brother is one thing, but don't go insulting his future wife. Nami and Sanji might just go crazy if they heard that comment.] Asch, you know I only want you two to get along. There's no reason to be like this.

I didn't insult her. [...Well, not out loud, anyway. Still, he shuts up at that- Xion doesn't like him so he doesn't have to like her, either. He's fine with how he and Luke are, so why doesn't anyone else understand it?]

You aren't answering my question Asch. Is there really such a problem you two have? [She inches a little closer to him, a concerned look showing on her face through the night light.] If there's anything I can do, you know I will.

[dissonates]

[Asch doesn't respond for a long while, his eyes averted, brows furrowed. Why do they fight? It's like asking why the sky's blue. It's just... something that happens.]

I don't have a particularly good reason for it. It's just how we are- we're siblings, so we fight. We have different priorities.

[She smiles sadly.]

I know that. But, you two fight more than looking out for one another. You know I worry about both of you and want your happiness.

[dissonates]

I think we're happy enough. [Luke has Xion, and he's... content. Surprisingly so, actually; he can't really recall a time when he was so content with his own life. And while he's always been a cynic, he knows that his life isn't that bad now.

It's just entertaining to harass his twin, really.]

...[She sighs in defeat.] I guess the only thing I can do is trust you both, huh. [A light huff.] Is Luke asleep? If he's on your bed you might need to take his for the night.

[dissonates]

...He's there. I'll go back to mine anyway- if he woke up without me there he'd just get mad at me for tricking him.

[Honestly it's a little embarrassing to admit that he and Luke are sharing for the night, but Luke would probably blab about it if she noticed them leaving Asch's bedroom in the morning anyway, so there's little sense in hiding it.]

[A mischievous smile creeps up on her face.]

Good. I think he sleeps better just knowing you're right by him. You might be able to sleep better too.

I told him not to kick me. [He doesn't have high hopes of this happening.]

If he kicks you then kick him back. Not too hard though. I don't need you guys fighting in your sleep either.

Yeah, yeah. [Mumble grumble stupid brother. Still, he can't help but smile a little; she always knows how to make him feel better.] I'm going back to bed. .....Thanks for listening.

You're welcome. [She quietly walks up to him and lightly pecks him on the forehead, followed by gently ruffling the top part of his hair.] Have a good rest. I'll be ready with breakfast in the morning.

Mm. See you then. [With an idle hand lifting to fix his tousled hair, he heads back to try and crawl into bed without waking his brother. Hopefully they'll get some decent rest before daybreak.]
