[He grips the side of Asch's bed tight, so much that his fingers hurt.]

I don't care what he uses as his excuse! I don't care about a stupid truce! No one should leave you - or anyone in a situation like that!

[Asch merely closes his eyes, letting Luke rant for the moment. He'd been there just a day or so ago, after all; the only reason he's not as angry himself is that he's had time to really consider the situation for a while.

Still, he can let Luke channel his leftover anger for a while. It's not unjustified, after all.]

[Asch's silence both makes Luke angrier and calms him down, strangely. He's still angry. Oh yes, he's still pissed as hell, and there will be many hologram monsters that'll have that anger taken out on them. But Asch not really reacting save for shutting his eyes makes Luke realize that he's still injured, and yelling probably isn't something he wants to hear.

Besides, Luke's emotions mostly build on the reactions of others. With Asch seeming so calm, it's having a sort of soothing effect on Luke's own wild emotions.

So, he lets out a long sigh and sits himself down, though he still keeps his hands together, shaking as they are, and glares down at the floor.

But he's silent. He's not sorry for yelling. He's not sorry for feeling the way he is. He won't apologize for those things when they'd both know that the words would be empty.]

[Well, at least he's settling down now. It's a rare day that Asch is more calm than Luke, certainly, and after a long moment of silence he opens his eyes again to glance over at his replica, studying his expression. He's obviously not happy, but- maybe he'll be more open to discussion now.]

It's not that I'm not angry. And it's not that I don't blame him, either. But I gave him an excuse. It's how he is, and I should have expected that. Lesson learned- that's all.

So he'd let you die at the first opportunity he gets?! [It's bitter, much more so than possibly anything Luke said. The longer he stays in Luceti, the more his love for Van is whittled away. This took a huge chunk out of it, too; Asch is one thing that Luke won't allow outside forces to hurt, or if they do, then those people will have a hard time getting back into Luke's favor.]

The rest of us wouldn't do anything like that. You know that, right?

Of course I know that. I'm not an idiot. [Asch averts his eyes again, hands tightening in the blanket of his bed. Knowing that Van is that malicious, that merciless... he'd always known, of course. He tortured a ten-year-old child without remorse; there's very little he won't do if it suits his needs.]

[There's a BANG as Luke slams his fist into the side of his chair, letting out some of his anger. Sometimes you just have to hit something, and that was certainly the case for Luke.]

Damn it! If I'd been there, I...!

[... He isn't sure what he'd do. Just helping train Kairi in the Battle Dome, when the program was set for mines, made him tense and nearly be completely useless as a sparring partner.

But he... wouldn't have just left Asch!

Now that he's hit something and yelled again, though, he lets out a long, long sigh, and his shoulders loosen. That helped out.]

If you'd been there, you would've been caught in the cave-in as well, and he wouldn't have bothered to dig you out. Just forget it.

[Which is an impossible request, of course, but it's more of a dismissal than anything else. Arguing about it at this point is useless.]

[Luke grips his hands into his knees. Yes... Asch is right. But he's a little calmer now, so he doesn't bother yelling more about it. He just sits and glowers, trying to push that topic out of his head until he can beat up some holograms about it.]

How badly are you hurt?

I broke a few ribs. I'll be fine. [In a few months. Eventually. It's obvious that Luke is still angry, but he can deal with it.]

Ugh. Luke's grip tightens, and he stands up quickly. He doesn't bother to try smiling to cover up how he feels - it's too obvious to try hiding.]

I'm going for a walk. [More like go beat some things.] I'll be back later.

[It's probably for the best. Luke needs to calm down, and hopefully not run off and try to attack Van or something equally stupid. He knows his replica, though- angry as he is, he's smart enough to know better. Not that they even know where to find Van.

Idly, he waves Luke off.]

Bring something decent to eat with you.

[On May 13th, Asch is in the forest behind the Battle Dome, then later, probably the clinic. But he won't be talking to anyone, because he's dead.

On May 14th-May 19th, he won't be anywhere in the village, but you can still talk to him if you want, he just won't reply. Because he's dead.

On May 20th, he should be back in the village, but he's not, in part because his mun is on vacation, but mostly BECAUSE HE'S FUCKING DEAD]

[Luke had flipped himself out of the clinic and ran to the spot where he thought he felt Asch because his mun said he did, but

when he arrives, breathing raggedly, he finds that Asch is nowhere to be seen

BECAUSE HE'S FUCKING DEAD

And then Luke fell to his knees and cried pathetically.]

[ Arietta is sitting alone in House 47. She is oh so very lonely, because everyone she was living with has been sent home recently.

Except for her last housemate, but he's not here either, BECAUSE HE'S FUCKING DEAD.

Maybe a liger will show up on her doorstep soon and cheer her up. Maybe. ]

[Where's Asch? It's not like he's FUCKING DEAD.]

[You know what, Guy doesn't give a damn about what Asch is doing this week.

Because whoops HE FUCKING KILLED HIM.

[Wolverine was just on his way on a long thoughtful walk, but then he stops when he sees Asch. Why? BECAUSE HE'S FUCKING DEAD people and that's weird, okay. He's gone.]

[He'd talked to Tear already, and everyone else he wanted to talk to about... what he knew was going to happen. There was one last thing he wanted to do, something that he told Asch he'd do when this first started happening.

The pendant is cool against his fevered skin as he looks through the window, trying to see if he can find Asch. Knocking isn't a thing he can do unless he's sure Arietta isn't there, so window watching it is. He'll just give a tug on the link if he sees the redhead in there.]

[Well, that's not conspicuous at all. Asch is nearby, though- he just happens to be walking up the path towards his house when he feels the tug on the link just a few seconds before the cheagle on his shoulder whispers something about his lurking replica.]

...What the hell are you doing, sneaking around the window?

[Hi, Luke. Have a disapproving Asch standing behind you.]

Asch!

[He jumps a little before he turns to look at his original, gripping the windowsill with one hand. After a moment's thought, he glances at the window, as if making sure that Arietta didn't hear him, before he shoots a half smile at Asch.]

I was... trying to see if you were home, actually. I think Arietta would just sic a liger on me if I knocked on the door...

[...Yeah, okay, he can get on board with that one- Arietta's never forgiven them for the whole liger queen incident. Still, it's creepy, so Asch continues to scowl at his replica, arms crossing over his chest, ignoring the fact that Star is offering up a cheery greeting. Stupid cheerful bastard.]

You could have just used the journal. What is it?

[He does smile and wave for Star first, before facing Asch with a somber expression and stepping closer to him. It's... better that Asch not see what he looks like right now. Thin, pale, wasting away right before his eyes... Luke hated even looking at himself. It's the reason for his choice in attire; a hat to cover the fact that strands of hair keep falling, gloves to hide how bony his hands look, loose long sleeves and long baggy pants. Dangerous, yes, but easy to throw off if he needed to.

Once he's in front of Asch, he stops, hesitating for a moment... before he reaches up to undo the clasp of the locket around his neck.]

It's... going to happen soon. I'm going to disappear soon.

[The pendant slips off of his neck, and he keeps his eyes on it as he keeps it in the palm of his hand and offers it to Asch.]

Do you remember what I asked you to do?

[Asch hears the jingle of the chain, but since he can't see, he does nothing at first, merely stares ahead blankly, waiting for what happens next. Star gives him a nudge, and his scowl deepens.]

You wanted me to take it, so it doesn't disappear.

[How could he forget? It had been a request that was kind of difficult to refuse.]

Right.

[After a moment, Luke reaches out to take Asch's hand, turn the palm up, and press the necklace into it. He doesn't let go just yet, instead still staring at their hands as he speaks up quietly.]

This is important to me, and you're the only one who knows why. I need it back... when I come back.
