[when she returns, she has a glass and a pitcher - he's had a visitor already, and even if he can't pour more himself, it might as well be here for others to pour for him. Unless he asks for help sitting up further, she'll hand him the glass; it has a straw.]

Of course it matters. But you being in this condition, also, matters. I hardly think you'd listen if I told you to be more careful.

I brought you something. Don't worry, I--..didn't make any of it. I'm not certain of the medical care here but--

Asch, that's not how you talk to a lady! [She's taking on a lecture-y tone now.] You have to be patient and gentle!

[Stop worrying? Asch, are you joking? Miyabi frowns, then simply shuts her eyes and sets down something onto his bed. It's a thermos, probably with tea in it.]

If you give me less to worry about, then maybe I will one day. [Lies, but he doesn't have to know that. She nods to the thermos.] It's bitter, and I don't think you'll like this one, but it's supposed to be good for you. It'll relax your nerves...a little. I don't know how to heal, yet, so this is the most I can do right now.

[Seems like Asch isn't going to yell at him to leave just yet, but there's not much he can do about that one.] Maybe if you didn't push yourself so hard all the time, Mr. Asch. It might help...

How long has it been?

Why wouldn't I care? [Well, actually Asch's hair is not so much the issue, but you don't go flying a guy around for months and then just forget about it and not care. Actually, Ginji owes Asch a lot.]

All of the other readings are coming true in one way or another, Mr. Asch! I'm not sure what it all means, but there was one that mentioned you specifically. So you see, I can't just stand around and let something happen...

You can get angry with me if you want to, but I'm not leaving.

[...He's really not giving up, is he? Dammit... why the hell does he have to be so stubborn all of a sudden?

If the remnants of the first day wasn't making him so lazy, he might've just considered clocking Ginji and having done with it. But no- that would just be a waste. Reluctantly, oh so reluctantly, he offers the scissors out to Ginji, glowering angrily at him.]

Will you really just be satisfied with this?

If I thought you were a lady, I'd treat you like one.

[...Probably not the best way to talk to her either, but...]

Natalia... [This is unexpected. He purses his lips, then nods slightly. He has at least the courtesy to not look relieved.] ...Good. A princess doesn't need to be cooking for a soldier.

Hm. [Asch takes the glass - he's not a total invalid, promise! - and sips at it, quiet for a long moment as he does so.] ...Thanks.

[A clear throat is putting him in at least a mildly improved mood.]

[Hey, he can dream, can't he? Or at least boss her around and pretend she'll listen.

He considers the thermos for a moment, then takes it and pops it open, lifting it to take a drink. His eyes narrow at the taste, but otherwise he shows very little indication that it tastes as terrible as she claims. He's had plenty worse over the years.

...It really does taste awful, though.]

You didn't have to bring this, you know.

[...Don't push himself... next thing you know, he'll be telling Asch not to talk about Natalia and Van all the time.]

Since I arrived here? Just yesterday.

[Which is still too long. DON'T QUESTION IT.]

Asch! [Looking up with watery eyes again.] How could you talk like that? I was just starting to think you might actually be a nice guy!

[A calm and professional smile.] I will be here for most of the day, if you should need anything else.

[Especially if you change your mind about the healing part. Most people, she gets stubborn with at this point here; Asch probably wouldn't take it well.]

A Princess does whatever she can to aid someone in need, whether they are a soldier or a noble. Of course..most princesses have at least some experience with good cooking.

I do not.

[Oh, but suppose whatever-it-is has nothing to do with the haircut at all? And what if Asch just goes off and finds himself another pair of scissors? And what if--]

[Nevertheless, Ginji will reach out and latch onto the other end of the scissors before Asch changes his mind completely. He is not letting go of them, but he does manage to sound apologetic.]

W-well, I just told you I didn't plan on leaving, Mr. Asch. If I walked off now, I'd be a liar....

[It takes a whole lot of effort not to giggle at the face Asch just made, but the most Miyabi does is glance away as her lips tug up at one corner. She can't help it, it's funny. Still, she is glad he at least tried it, it'd help his body recover some...as bad as it tasted.]

I don;t have to do a lot of things when it comes to you, don't I? [She smiles.] But I think you know why I do the things I do, Asch.

["All the time" was the operative phrase there, boss. You know, in moderation, to allow time for the whole natural repairing process to finish up.]

[Only a day? Ginji thought for sure it'd been at least two or three... Hmn.] I guess you could try asking them to let you recover at home, but I don't know that it would speed up the healing process at all...

[And it'd still be pretty boring; he knows.]

[...Mrrrrrgh. He really is screwed, isn't he.]

Alright, fine. We'll do whatever you want and go for as long as it takes. Better?

[Though he'll probably ragequit before she gets bored.]

[Well, at least she seems more comfortable with the idea. He takes the apple, quiet for a long moment as he helps himself to a few bites. With the stress of the draft and his injuries forcing him to stay in the clinic, he's been feeling pretty peckish.]

It's good that you haven't lost that, even in a place like this.

[Her noble attitude about the common people is part of what he loves about her, after all.]

[He nods absently, glancing towards the window.]

How long until I'm cleared to leave this place?

...Hm. [He does know, actually, which is why he doesn't exactly argue much anymore. There wouldn't be much use in doing so, considering all it gets him is a whole lot of wasted breath. He's quiet for a time, just sipping away at the tea she'd brought. Despite the bitterness, it is slightly soothing, so at least that's appreciated.]

...Going home would mean the dreck would be looking after me. No thanks.

[Uuugh, just the thought of Luke playing nursemaid is going to give him nightmares. The clinic staff might focus too much on magical healing for his liking, but at least they know how to feed an injured man.]

You can't just follow me around all day!

[...He can't, right? Right?]

[It's not that bad, is it?]

It depends. It could be within a week, if you rest, and decide to allow yourself to be healed. [perfect opportunity, that.] Do you stay with someone that would be able to...assist you if necessary?

['Help' doesn't seem like the kind of word he'd appreciate hearing.]
