[It had taken a few days for him to notice a certain housemate's disappearance - the man had been kidnapped, after all, and Asch didn't make a habit of nosing around in his room. It had been instinct more than anything that had made him poke his head in to check Van's room this morning.

The room had been empty. It's a familiar feeling, standing there in a room that used to hold someone important. Not necessarily treasured or even missed, this time, but undeniably important. And there's a fleeting thought, one he has to bury with the rest of the ideas that he doesn't share with people: how long until he's alone again?

...Yep, not sharing that one. He does close the door behind himself, though, sit down on the bed, and open his journal.]

Van Grants has gone home.

[He won't be all that chatty, but the message definitely needed to be conveyed.]

Her abilities are a little different, actually. I'm not sure if her fonic artes can heal, but it's possible.

Sooo...they can do other kinds of magic? That's amazing! [And she can't help but wonder if her hair could do something like that if she learned how.]

The ones that I'm aware of are a temporary forcefield and an arte that puts enemies to sleep. As far as I know, there are seven lines to the arte altogether, one ability per lyric. It all makes one song.

[Or something like that, anyway. He's not going to go into the Grand Fonic Hymn, Tear could explain that much better.]

I wonder what I could learn from her...I've never really thought about singing doing more than just healing before.

I don't know if your hair and her hymns would be compatible. There's no reason why you can't explore your own potential, though.

[Fonic hymns don't work without fonons; that's a proven fact. But there's no telling what magic hair can do.]
