There once was an old man with three daughters. He loved them very much, but his wife had died and he'd had a difficult time finding a way to take care of them. He sold everything he could think to sell on top of his regular work, but he still couldn't find enough money to pay for food to put on the table. Until one day, when he was hunting in the woods, a White Bear approached him and offered him all the gold he could possibly imagine in exchange for his youngest daughter. She was reluctant to agree, but she could see that her sacrifice could save the lives of her poor father and sisters. So with a heavy heart, she agreed to go with the White Bear, and he took her far into the snowy mountains to his enchanted castle.
