Alright, so the festival isn't a complete disaster. I forgot how long it's been since I actually went to something like this.

[And Asch is at the door a minute later eh.]

[Hell boy, that was quick. Guy's lying back on his bed, arms behind his head and an ankle balanced on a bent knee.]

Come in.

[He wasn't lurking by the door or anything. Asch slips in, shutting the door behind him, and lingers by it for a moment, not too sure of himself just yet.]

[Then he's probably going to be standing for a while, since Guy isn't moving and his eyes are closed.]

[Well, damn. Eventually Asch figures this out and steps over to the bed, turning around and sitting down on it, looking at the floor.]

...What're you afraid of?

[And it's another good long while before Guy answers; his eyes open to stare at the ceiling, lips barely moving as he murmurs his answer.]

...I dunno. Feels like...something inside me will twist and break off...it doesn't make any sense.

[Asch's fingers tense in the bedsheets, just a little.]

I don't understand it either.

Mm.

[Guy shifts his weight. His leg rests against Asch's back.]

[Asch doesn't move away from it. His hands move, sliding away from the sheets to meet on his knees, clasping together.]

[Nice try, Asch. But Guy is going to wait this one out.]

[Guy, you bastard.

Asch keeps his mouth shut for a while, then leans back a bit to put some of his weight on Guy's leg.]

...It felt good.

[Guy turns his head and watches Asch for a while before sighing, a little exasperated. He frees the arm closest to Asch from beneath his head and reaches around the teenager's side, hand sliding down his wrist to clasp Asch's hand.]

[It's like a wall's finally come crashing down. Asch slumps a little, shoulders drooping, more from relief than anything else, and turns his hand to hold Guy's in response, eyes closing. He doesn't even know what to say.]

[Asch isn't the only one relieved. Immediately Guy relaxes, closing his eyes again and just brushing his thumb over Asch's knuckles. Thank Yulia he hadn't pulled away.]

[Pulling away is the last thing Asch wants to do. He gives Guy's hand a light but desperate squeeze, a little smile crossing his lips. Despite how pathetic it looks he's genuinely happy.]

Hey. Asch. [Guy gives Asch's hand a little tug.]

[And Asch glances over at that one.] Hm?

[Rolling slightly onto his side, Guy closes his eyes and brings the back of Asch's hand to his lips, nearly on impulse. Maybe just to see what he'd do, but...]

[And Asch is watching that pretty move like a hawk, Guy, but he's not going anywhere. He's surprised, though, and definitely lets it show. Blushing, too.]

Guy...

[Guy lets their hands fall to the blankets and looks over at Asch, completely serious, no trace of humor in his expression.]

...let's try this.

[Asch is quiet for a moment, eyes lowering to where their hands are clasped together. The words 'what about the replica?' are on his lips but he doesn't say it, refuses to say it, because it could ruin everything and Guy wouldn't suggest it if he didn't think it was worth it.

And that was the most meaningful part of it; it was worth it.]
