[Asch is in the wooded area in front of house 5, close to the crossroads but facing away, working through his techniques and practicing his fonic artes. He's been pretty irate since his conversation with Natalia, and after Jacob's sacrifice and his discussion with Guy, he's more focused than before, but he's still not in the best of moods.

His journal is open on a rock nearby in case something else happens or he's needed for something; feel free to a) see him, b) hear him shouting out random attacks, c) troll, or d) ignore entirely. |Db]

I never said I was expecting an apology. [Asch slashes his blade through the air, speaking through half-clenched teeth.]

I don't have an answer for you. [Guy doesn't bother looking at him, watching the space before Asch as if he could see the air part around his blade.] I wouldn't unless I actually saw that happening to him. I don't know.

[Asch twists into another technique, facing Guy this time.] If he doesn't deserve it, then who does? Is that Malnosso traitor worse than Father was in the Hod War?

[Asch halts, eyes narrowing, and finishes his technique with a forward jab, blade pointed towards Ratatosk.]

You have a problem with that?

Maybe he was. [Guy's katana is at his hip, but he doesn't acknowledge its presence otherwise. His eyes narrow.] And maybe your father deserves it, too.

Hey, it's not like I care whether you get killed or not.

[Asch will probably note that his stance is totally different from normal Emil's... it's far more confident.]

[Asch doesn't respond, but the way his expression shifts, it's probably easy to tell that he can't even say whether or not he disagrees.]

[Asch notices. He's also noticing that this guy is really damned irritating.]

You think you're any better?

[Asch can't stay outside forever, so when he comes in might be a good time to give it a shot.]

[... and he's drawing his sword. If he's not going to get to fight with the intruders, this will just have to do instead.]

[Guy's got nothing more to say to that, but he's a little bothered anyhow so he just finds some interesting tree to stare at. Closed body language is a go.]

[Asch had seen that one coming a mile away, so he immediately shifts his position, wordlessly preparing to fight. He's never seen Ratatosk (or Emil, for that matter) in battle, so he has no idea what to expect. He'll stay on guard until he determines whether this is a spar, or a real battle.]

[Asch watches him for a moment; finally he lifts his sword again, pointing it at Guy.] Draw your sword.

[It's probably a good thing that Ratatosk doesn't want to have to deal with an upset Emil and thus isn't out to kill this time around, because he is FAST. And he's not giving a warning before charging in either, swinging his sword without a word in a lightning-fast strike.]

[Asch returns it.] We need to prepare for what's ahead.

[in a voice too gentle for the words]

Are you sure you should be using up your energy that way?

I'm not sparring with you. Zack said he'd spar with me.

[Yeah, it would be nice to not die. Asch already has his sword ready, so he moves to block it, glaring at his opponent. His intent had been to practice, not get into a real battle, but he couldn't just ignore it when it's thrown in his face.]

[dissonates]

[Asch bristles at that; him again.] Fine, then leave me alone.

[dissonates]

I'm not going to wear myself out with just this. But I need to be prepared for whatever's coming.
