[Asch shut his journal and sat back in the bed, closing his eyes and focusing on his breathing. There was a stabbing pain in his gut every time he inhaled, despite the fact that he'd told Guy he was fine, and painkillers were the only things he could rely on. He couldn't distract himself with action when he could hardly stay on his feet.

[Asch heard the footsteps distantly, and he didn't miss the hesitation. At the knock, he opened one eye and called out his answer.]

[Asch lifted a brow, reaching out to take the pills. He glared up at the replica - what the hell was he doing, standing there so meekly? He'd actually developed a backbone in this place, and now it was gone, apparently. Did his idiocy never end?]

[Asch popped open the pill bottle with some difficulty - his hands weren't in great shape yet either - then downed two of them, taking the glass to wash them down. At least the replica couldn't screw that up. Now the only issue was his attitude.]

[Asch glared at the replica again, annoyed, and set aside the glass to push himself upright, gritting his teeth against the pain. This was more important.]

[Asch snorted in disbelief, rolling his eyes and grabbing the glass again, tossing the remainder of the contents in his copy's face.

[Asch put the glass back down, not taking his eyes off of Luke for a second. He was inwardly pleased to see the replica fighting back again. It was pointless to see him acting like a punching bag.]
