[Action / ...sort of Voice] forward-dated to morning
[So Asch's hyperresonance has been giving him issues since his return, which has made for some interesting new decor in house #5 - like the hole in his bedroom, giving him a nice view of the hallway - but he's been slowly getting it back, at least to the point where it's been manageable. But every now and then he has these little bursts, for various reasons. Like this morning, when he gets up to make coffee. Gets coffee grinds in his face. Sneezes.
And subsequently blasts a massive hole through the roof of house #5. Oops?
Thus, within a few hours, Asch is up on the roof with some materials, banging away at making something of a repair with his grand construction skills. That is to say, he's pretty much making a mess into a bigger mess. ...Not to mention completely failing to realize that houses regenerate when damaged. AWESOME LOGIC IS GO!
His journal's in his belt, so a particularly clumsy swing and bump of the arm ends up recording a few loud bangs and a stream of cussing worthy of the sailor.]

What are you talking about?
[Action] - wow, my fail was enormous in this tag.
The glare she gives him - and how hot and red her aura becomes - could have burned holes through his head, or the roof. Instead, she takes to answering his question, though with a bit of a bite.]
The houses fix themselves the next day. I think... Well, considering my friends' house was always blown up for some other reason, and was fixed the next day, I...I guess they fix themselves, right?
[Action] if it's any consolation I didn't see it
THEY FIX THEMSELVES.]
[Action] >__> That's right. You didn't.
Eh heh. H-How about some lunch, then? I'll even help you! It's the least I could do, since I couldn't restore your roof.
[Action] >______>
Do whatever you want. [Which is more or less "stay for lunch if you must" in Asch-speak. Little things like her probably don't eat much, so it's not like it's much work to feed an extra mouth.]
[Action] ♥
Okay! I can make you a really tasty meal if you have ingredients, but I hope you don't mind if there's no meat or fish. I won't eat or cook that.
[Action] ♥
You don't eat meat?
[Action]
No. My gods are all animals, so it'd be disrespectful if I consumed an animal that represented them. But there are plenty of dishes in Nippon that don't require meat at all, and are absolutely delicious!
[Action]
No lettuce gods in Nippon, then.
[Once he's picked out the vegetables available, he gets out a knife.]
You give me directions, and I'll make it. I don't have anything in your size.
[Action]
Not that I'm aware of. Hmm...you wouldn't happen to have any sticky rice, would you? Or dried seaweed? We can make kappamaki - cucumber rolls!
[She marches right over to a few of the cucumbers. They weren't identical to the ones grown in Nippon, but Miyabi was certain t wouldn't make that huge a difference.]
[Action]
We have rice and cucumber. But why would anyone want to eat seaweed? [It's almost like eating seafood. Gross.]
[Action]
[She hops up and down on to counter in front of him.] If you don't have any seaweed, we could always just make rice balls and have sliced vegetables on the side!
[Action]
I know how to make riceballs. I used to eat them for lunch on Auldrant.
[Action]
But if you know how to make them, then that works just fine. Can I help with anything?
[Action]
[Action]
That's so strange... I've never heard of anything like that before, not even in stories. Well, there are stories about the cursed iron gate deep within Yoshpet, but... Mm, I wonder how that's possible.
[Action]
Cursed iron gate? Do I want to know?
[Action]
Deep within the consuming forest in Nippon, where my home is located, an iron gate has stood for as long as anyone can remember. No one knows who built it, how it got there, or what it's for. But stories say the gate is cursed by an evil, dark power, and those lured within the Spirit Gate are never heard from again.
[She breathes out a little shakily.] Mother Amaterasu and another of my tribe, Issun, went there chasing after a young girl who was kidnapped by two demons and taken through the gate. ...That was right before I came here.
[Action]
...If Amaterasu's a goddess, she should be fine. The girl, too. That's just how it goes.
[Not something he really believes in, but... well, it is how it goes. The hero swoops in and saves the day, everyone lives happily ever after. That's how the stories are supposed to happen.]
[Action]
Oh! Uhm, I-I think the rice is done. [She hops onto one of the handles of the cooking pot to peer at the contents, being extra careful not to fall in.]
[Action]
[Action]
Hm...many things. Pickled vegetables - sometimes pickled plums, seaweed but you don't like that..., red bean paste, green onions with miso... What do you put in yours, if I ma ask?
[Action]
The best I've had was chicken and spiced soy. But sweet plums are good too.
[Action]
Then we an have that, if it's available. I'm not too picky. [She follows him with her eyes, frowning a little that she couldn't do much else. She's used to cooking for men, not the other way around.] ...I can make tea if you want me to.
[Action]
Tea's fine. [He retrieves the ingredients for the riceballs, vainly wishing he was better at conversation. Not for the first or last time, either.] ...How do you eat riceballs, anyway? You're so- [...T-tiny. Shit, he can't say that.]

[Action] I feel like this really needs to happen now
[Action] I will love you so much more than I already do.
[Action] Well now I really have to.
