[After getting violently ejected from his own house, Asch has set up temporary shop in Good Spirits until he figures out where to go (and whether or not to try and evict Guy and get his house back). Since Guy apparently hit his head and can't even remember working there, Asch is hoping that the bar will be the last place he'll have to worry about running into Guy again. And it's not like dealing with the shop is particularly hard; all you have to do is pour drinks and listen to people's griping, and what good is a replica if he can't do that in Asch's place? ...The listening part, anyway. Floating glasses of alcohol might give people the wrong idea.

So in short, Asch will be doing two things today: shopping and carrying groceries back to the bar to stock up, or hanging out in the bar and trying not to attempt to murder his invisible companion. Stupid drecks and their attempts at impressing him. He's not really used to being around a lot of people, so he easily forgets that he's the only one who can see Luke. Thus:]

I already told you to keep your feet on the ground. You could at least pretend to be normal.

[....]

Shut up! Stop doing that, I don't need help.

[....]

Just be quiet already!!

[...Yeah he's a little crazy in public this week.]

[Asch glares after her for a moment. He's supposed to accept help from him- no, her? What the hell? After everything Dist did to him? That's it.]

Even if you did examine me, just to let me know how oh-so fragile my body apparently is, what the hell do you think you're going to do for me? Tell me what's going to start failing first? Guess at how long I've got left? You can't stop it, no one can! All you can do is give me a life sentence. I don't need that kind of cheap favour!

[She stops on her way out, not looking back at Asch after his little outburst. After what seems like forever of silence, she looks over her shoulder and smiles, despite the grim conversation topic.]

...Clever boy. No, there's nothing to be done about your condition from what I presently know. That's why I want to study you, Asch. To truly test if there's no way to reverse or slow down the effects of the Big Bang. It's my duty as a scientist.

[Ratatosk remains silent throughout, just taking in this explanation and these images... but when the image of that blond boy pops up, a flicker of strange familiarity causes him to scowl slightly. He's seen that boy before, he KNOWS it, but he can't remember where.

At last, however, his expression returns to a neutral one as Luke moves away.]

If all of that really happened, then when the hell did Luke get back here?

[The smile is somewhat disarming, and he blinks at first, startled by it. That was bizarre.

...Wait this is Dist, he hates Dist.]

Your duty should be to stay the hell out of my life; you've already made it miserable enough with your meddling.

What are you talking about? He's been here with me all this time.

[Asch very nearly gets up to do just that, but Luke hastily moves between them urgently. Remember how you two beat the snot out of each other that one time? Yeah.]

Why the hell are you still even here? You know about Luke, now leave us alone.

[Dist snears, and crosses her arms over her chest.] If you're searching for an apology, I suggest you look harder. And for your information, it was not my intent to experiment on you specifically, but what's done is done. Your life is now more or less my responsibility to monitor, much to my constant annoyance...however, so do expect further "meddling" on my part.

I will be back after I've reviewed the basics on fomicry. Do try not to die before then, my boy.

[Asch clenches his teeth, turning away and not deigning to respond to that one. God damn you, Dist. Why does the one person who knows about fomicry have to be him?]

... fine. But you might want to look into getting those memory problems of yours fixed before you forget something that's really important.

Didn't say you had to. I just know there are a few who like having matches. Keeps them in shape for when doom tries to rain on your head. [As it often does, really.]

Hmm. I know Okita was looking for swordsmen to spar against a while ago. [A long while ago, admittedly, but hey.] And you could always ask Zoro. He's the guy with green hair that tends to snore on our roof a lot.
