[Hm, that didn't exactly answer his last question of if Asch's fonons flowed into the replica, but ascertaining that information would take questioning the actual replica, which he was not allowed to do...marvelous. Honestly, if he wasn't allowed to ask questions of the replica, how could he get any solid, factual information to work with? It'd be such a daunting, inconvenient task!

Thankfully. Dist doesn't take longer than about twenty minutes and he's back looking a bit hopeful. Pleased, even, if only just a little bit. Once back, he looks Asch over to make sure he was awake enough to listen. Satisfied he was, Dist begins to explain his findings.]

I'm pleased to say, Asch, that the rate of your fonons' separation is dramatically slower than I had first anticipated. It's not exact, but I estimate that you'll have quite a few years to live, if you can withstand the constant pain of your dissonance. In light of the aforementioned, I'd like to check up on you routinely, to make absolutely certain that the rate of deterioration does not increase somehow.

I can also try to give you something to numb the constant pain, but don't count too much on that, I'm not a pharmacist.

[Tell Luke? Ha. Ha ha ha. No. He knows that Guy and Luke are close and Luke will probably notice that something is up, but the truth? Not a good idea.]

[Years? Asch blinks at that, genuinely surprised. Not just one or something, but quite a few. It's a strange thing to imagine, especially when he'd felt his body already falling apart in Eldrant, only moments before he'd been brought to Luceti... is it this place? Because of Luceti itself? Or had his previous death given him some sort of extra time? The whole thing is baffling, and while he's not entirely sure he can even trust Dist or his research, an untrustworthy answer (an optimistic one, at that) is better than just... not knowing.

Belately he recalls that Dist had mentioned painkillers, and he nods slightly after some hesitation. He's doing his best to conceal it, but he'll probably be in shock for a while.
