[It's early afternoon. The journal flies open and turns on abruptly in mid-air, a blast of resonating energy having blown it away from where it had been placed. As it flies, a few flashes of red, white, and black are visible, and when it lands, Asch and Luke are in the distance, swords clashing, the rec center just beyond where they're fighting. Occasionally they'll exchange commentary, but none of it seems to filter in.

The resonating noise continues, though, and as their swords clash one more time, it seems to grow even louder than before, until finally one shout rings clear-]

Pull back you dre-

[And before he can even finish, an explosion of light flares between them, and two identical cries of alarm are the only sound that filters through that eerie resonance. The light spreads, flaring outwards and sending the journal flying backwards, cutting off the feed.

The light is probably visible to most of the village as a single beam of light flying up towards the barrier and disappearing from sight. And there is a nice big crater in the forest just south of the rec center, where pretty much anything in that location - trees, bushes, grass, whatever - has... pretty much been decimated. A journal bearing Asch's name on the cover is sitting in the grass just outside of the crater, looking pretty ripped up and charred. The scene overall probably looks pretty dooming, especially since neither of the redheads are anywhere to be found.

[ooc: most responses will come from Luke, though Asch will chime in as well when he can!]

[Yuri's probably already reached the crater by the time Luke gets to responding to him. His voice is quiet and rough, and if Yuri looks, Luke appears to be half on Asch's back and half in the ocean, where the two are soaked and trying to swim to shore.]

We're okay.

[---Oh hey, he really did get a response. And he got an answer for the first question he would've asked, too. Good. Sighing now.]

... Good to know. [... Wait, is that the ocean? What--] What the hell happened?

[Now, how to explain this simply? It took Luke forever to actually get what hyperresonance actually was, and he still doesn't really understand it. How do you tell someone who's never heard of it before?]

We, uh... screwed up. [He has to cough a little - that's what happens when you swallow sea water and nearly drown.] With our power.

... I see. [... No, no he doesn't. But he's got a feeling he wouldn't understand anyway, especially since it involved teleporting and explosions, so he'll just save himself and Luke a headache by not asking further. For now, anyway.] Well, uh ... Be careful on your way back then, I guess.

Thanks, Yuri. It might - [He turns his head away to cough, gdit.] ... take a while. We're... kind of in the middle of the ocean.

You're that far out? [ ... ] ... Sheesh. Whatever you two did, I wouldn't do it twice.

Y-Yeah. [...] Oh, hey, is there... any damage or anything?

[... Theeeere's a pause as Yuri looks back at that crater. Erm.]

... See for yourself.

[With that, he turns his journal to face the damage done. A picture's worth a thousand words, and Yuri is well aware he's bad at describing things sometimes. Might as well take the easy way out.]

[There's silence from Luke as he sees just how much damage they did... But at least the rec center is still standing. Luke had thought they might have destroyed that, too. Jeez...]

... At least everyone's okay. [He hopes so, anyway. He hopes with everything he has that no one was near them when the hyperresonance triggered.]

Yeah, it looks like this crater is the only damage that was done. [ ... ] ... It'll probably all fix itself in a few days. I wouldn't worry about it.

[... That's probably the best thing Luke heard all day. Thanks, Yuri. Luke has to smile and shut his eyes with relief.]
