[It's early afternoon. The journal flies open and turns on abruptly in mid-air, a blast of resonating energy having blown it away from where it had been placed. As it flies, a few flashes of red, white, and black are visible, and when it lands, Asch and Luke are in the distance, swords clashing, the rec center just beyond where they're fighting. Occasionally they'll exchange commentary, but none of it seems to filter in.
The resonating noise continues, though, and as their swords clash one more time, it seems to grow even louder than before, until finally one shout rings clear-]
Pull back you dre-
[And before he can even finish, an explosion of light flares between them, and two identical cries of alarm are the only sound that filters through that eerie resonance. The light spreads, flaring outwards and sending the journal flying backwards, cutting off the feed.
The light is probably visible to most of the village as a single beam of light flying up towards the barrier and disappearing from sight. And there is a nice big crater in the forest just south of the rec center, where pretty much anything in that location - trees, bushes, grass, whatever - has... pretty much been decimated. A journal bearing Asch's name on the cover is sitting in the grass just outside of the crater, looking pretty ripped up and charred. The scene overall probably looks pretty dooming, especially since neither of the redheads are anywhere to be found.
[ooc: most responses will come from Luke, though Asch will chime in as well when he can!]

[That was to Asch. Now he'll direct his attention to Miyabi, thus missing how Asch reacts to that.]
Heh... don't worry, Miyabi, we'll - wait Asch what the-

[What. What is going on?! Suddenly Luke was talking, then he was cut off and--...splash?
All Miyabi can see is Luke going under, and Asch pushing him down. She nearly jumps out of her skin, a startled yelp escaping her lips. WHAT THE HELL WAS ASCH DOING?! Miyabi grips her journal, eyes wide with horror and rising fury. This time, though, she doesn't hold back.]
ASCH, I WILL KILL YOU WHEN I FIND YOU!
[Voice]
Maybe I just won't let you find me, then. [You could show a little sympathy, Luke's the one being an ingrate.]
[Voice]
... Though at least Asch's isn't really trying to kill him. Good to know.]
[Voice]
[Remember the last time you did that? You fell on you ass, man. 8| But she'll plot killing you later. Right now, she's worried about you both, especially Luke since he almost drowned again. Stupid Asch.]
Just get back safely. [She pauses, then frowns, then pouts.] So I can hit you for worrying me so much.
[Voice]
Rather sullen about it all, he ducks his head into the water a bit, mouth submerged, breathing through his nose. He doesn't really feel like talking to Miyabi anymore, or at least not while swimming. This is tiring enough as it is.]
[Voice]
Miyabi, Asch saved my life. Don't really hit him, okay?
[Voice]
For a moment, she just wants to snap at Luke, too, but...no. No, he's just trying to help. So after a few minutes of breathing, she shuts her eyes and mumbles in a clipped voice.]
...Fine. Just come back safely.
[Voice]
[Though he miiight not inform her immediately once they've reach shore, considering how glad they'll both be once they get there. He'll still give his best little smile and not quite shut the journal, but keep his thumb against the middle of the book to keep it partially open as they swim. They do talk to each other, but whatever they're saying is filtered out by the sound of waves and the fact that the book is barely open in the first place.]
[Voice]
As she waits, listening to her journal, she fixes up the area as best she could. A bit of divine intervention. Definitely not enough to entirely fix the damage, or do much help, but it was better than nothing. She could at least get Faeren and her own power to fix up the crater somewhat. At least it's not a hazard now, once she's done...and thoroughly exhausted.
But not exhausted enough to not give the two an extra bit of good luck. She breathes out, wipes her forehead, and paints the character for heaven on the page of her journal - big and bold.]

We don't understand that language, you know.

She rolls over, paws at the ground for a brush she just knows is somewhere, then draws something in her journal as a response to Asch's words, giggling quietly to herself. Now that her anger's been diffused, she can actually relax and joke a little bit.]
[Written]
How mature.
[...But okay, it's short-lived; her cheekiness is vaguely amusing and has earned her at least half of his forgiveness.]
[Written]
It comes with my age.
[Written]
[Actually, besides her appearance, he... doesn't actually know how old Miyabi even is. People in Luceti often don't look their actual age... is this one of those cases?]
[Written]
You don't think I'm sagely already, Asch? How mean, to treat someone my age like that! But no, I'd have to be at least two hundred to be considered that old. I was that old once, during an experiment, though. [When she was an envoy. That was...weird. Not bad, just unexpected, and surreal.]
Oh, before you ask, I'm eighty-five right now. [...] I think.
[Written]
So instead of calling you short, I should call you old.
[Written]
She grabs her brush, and hastily draws a quick scribble of Asch tied to what looks like a large, round bomb. It's blotchy and the lines are messy and uneven, but the message under it is written with care--]
Come home soon. ♥
[Written]
Just so I can be blown up by a grandmother? I'd rather not.
[Voice]
Asch, you're the worst! I hope you get eaten by a bear! If not, then I'll send one out to come find you!
[Voice]
[Trolololol...]
[Voice]
You-- [Oh. Okay, fine. Miyabi accepts this challenge. She leers back at her journal, eyes narrowed.] ...At least I don't have lines on my face yet, or a receding hairline. How old are you again, Asch?
[Voice]
I'm only 20!
