[Her voice is a little softer at that, but she perks right back up again a moment later.]

Hmm... so in other words, whether I'm here or back in my world, no matter what I do I'll always have a blonde princess for a friend.

[He's not sure how he should be feeling about this.

What he does feel is pretty much okay with it, though.]

Yep! That's right. [Even if the thought of him being back in his world where she couldn't be his friend...makes her a little sad.

But! That wasn't the point of all this.]

I can probably learn to live with that.

[Because it's such a chore, really.]

[Hm. She's glad for that.

And look! They've arrived in front of Seventh Heaven. She, of course, will do the POLITE thing and open the door for him.]

[He lifts a brow - seriously, what kind of princess is she? He's supposed to do that for her - but since the door is already open he heads in anyway, looking around for a free table.]

Is anything reserved? ...Can you reserve tables here?

[She's her own princess, she does what she wants! Or, you know. Has no idea about some of these things.]

I asked them to keep a window table open for us. [Because window seats are the best. She steps inside a little further - aha. She spots the table she picked out still sitting open, so she waves him towards it.] This one! Come on.

[Oh, huh. Answers that question. He shrugs his shoulders and follows her to the table, and he will show her how princesses are supposed to be treated this time by pulling a chair out for her himself. That's how noblemen do it, dammit.]

I haven't been here for some time. I hardly remember what they make.

[She positively beams at him when he pulls out her chair for her.]

Thank you! [And properly thanked, she sits.]

What are you in the mood for?

[He sits across from her, taking in the view of the restaurant - it doesn't seem to have changed much in four months, but it's still nice to see - then fetches a menu to peruse.]

I'll eat anything that isn't seafood. I prefer chicken, though, if they have anything... fancy.

[For lack of a better term. He's so used to plain, home-cooked meals, it's been ages since he's gone to a restaurant.]

They DO have a very good chicken Parmesan...[She scans through the menu herself. Maybe something with noodles?] Why not seafood?

[His brows lift at that. Chicken parmesan- which just happens to be his favourite meal. Well. He knows what he's ordering now.]

I spent half my life in a port town and the other half on an island. I just got sick of eating it all the time.

Ah. I guess I'm a little sick of the things I'd eat in my tower a lot, too.

[They also happened to be the things Gothel liked, so she didn't miss them much.]

I think I'll go with the chicken alfredo.

I'll try the parmesan, then.

[He's not particularly adventurous, but at least he's out of the house. One baby step at a time, right?]

Mm. [....] What else do you have planned today? This feels too normal for someone with your... enthusiasm.

Not particularly. [Is that discouraging? That's discouraging. He should rephrase that.] ...But I trust you.

I promise it won't be anything too...you know. [It won't be floating lanterns, or something.] I think you'll really enjoy it!

[Floating lanterns would win out against streamers and balloons, so there's that.]

I hope you didn't go out of your way to impress me.

[She seemed so into the idea, he'd hate to disappoint, but he's pretty difficult to surprise or impress.]

Well...not to impress, exactly. I just want to make sure you have an enjoyable evening, more than anything else.
