[Well, a lot has happened since Karla had promised Jack Horner to pay Asch a visit at the bar. She had gone for fashion tips (which in the end, she decided to show up in her normal white attire anyhow). And there was the whole mess with the Filial spirit possession.]

[But now things have settled down, and Karla is ready to make her move. She enters the bar and instantly recognizes her target working behind the counter. That must be him. Then she takes a moment to review the plan in her mind. Don't mention Jack. Make it sound like this is her idea.]

[She strides casually over to the counter, pausing, wondering how to greet him. Oh, she's no good at this, especially when this is someone else's idea.]

Hello...you must be Asch.

[Asch is puzzled - he's not used to people knowing him right from the get-go. That would mean that people talk about him, and he figures that basically never happens unless it's involving something negative.

...Maybe this is something negative. His eyes narrow a little, but he nods.]

That's right.

[Wow, not much of a conversationalist, is he? This means that Karla would be the one fishing for words, which she's not the best at either.]

I've...heard about you. I've heard that you're pretty strong.

[At least it's not negative.]

[Wow, that's not what he expected to hear, either. One eyebrow quirks a bit - he doesn't look proud of the compliment (sort of), more like intrigued, but it's far from a bad response. He'd half-expected it to be one of the replica's friends coming in to complain about his mistreatment of Luke or something.]

I can hold my own in a fight. Why?

Well, I...

[..."heard you could use some action"? No...Karla stops to rethink her wording a bit.]

...I thought perhaps we can train together for a bit after you're finished working? I'm rather new here, so I don't really know how the Battle Dome works.

[Yeah, she'll hold off on asking for a direct sparring match. If she's supposed to be cheering him up, beating him senseless wouldn't be the way to go.]

[...Huh. Of all the people to ask, she chose him? Weird. And now he wonders who she talked to for that to happen. Rapunzel? No, she's not really into fighting. Luke, more likely.

Whatever.]

I normally train alone, but I was going to head over there after my shift, anyway. I can at least give you a demonstration.

[The 'training together' bit might take some convincing, though. He's not so sure about that one.]

That would be great. What time shall I meet you there?

[Asch glances back at the wall clock, then back at her.]

Three hours, and I'll be there.

All right, I'll see you then...

[She pauses, thinking. Was there something else she should mention? Did she even introduce herself?]

[Meanwhile, Asch assumes the conversation is over and turns back to his work. Apparently he either doesn't care about her name or hasn't recognized her lapse at all.]

[Well, Karla can't think of anything else at the moment, so she just turns and leaves.]

[Three hours later, she'll head over to the Battle Dome to look for him.]

[Asch arrives shortly after she does, greeting her with a curt nod.]

Good, you're on time. Did you choose a room?

[Wow, she beat him here? Karla looks surprised as she responds.]

Ah...no...not yet. I thought you would have already...

What would be the point of doing that if I'm here to teach you how to use it?

[Seems kind of counter-productive, to him. He shrugs, though, mostly unbothered. The nearest unoccupied room is pretty close to them, so he leads her over and starts punching buttons on the console, getting the system up and running.]

It's not that complicated- once it's up and running, you just need to choose a scenario. You can either pick one that already exists or create something new. What kind of combat are you used to? Monsters, humans, robotic enemies- what do you want to train against?

[Good point. Karla shrugs as she follows him to the unoccupied training room, watching as he worked all those little buttons. Curious.]

I'm used to fighting humans. We don't have monsters where I come from. What kind of monsters do you fight?

Too many to count. I'll set up a generic bandit program, those are simple enough.

[He goes about selecting options - settings, difficulty, enemy type, random stuff. He's not moving at rocket speed or anything, but it's still fast for a beginner, so hopefully she can keep up.]

[A bandit program. Sounds simple enough, for the purpose of learning how to set up a battle scenario. She's still curious about the monsters like burning, but it can wait for now.]

[She watches closely as Asch chooses the settings. Sounds simple enough as well.]

Sounds good, for starters.

[Asch nods, tapping the start-up button, then gestures towards the door.]

After that you just go in and fight as if they were real. It isn't deadly, so make it as challenging as you want. That's all you need to know to use this place.

I see. It sounds simple enough.

[She begins to step towards the door, but then glances back at him.]

Are you coming in, too?

[Whoa and he was already turning to leave, too.]

Why would I? It's your training session.

Really? I thought you said you were coming over here to train anyway.

I was. There are five rooms available, I don't have to train in yours.
