[Have an Asch, curled up in bed, waking up from a nice cozy rest because of something feeling amiss. He's used to having two familiar presences always nearby. Guy isn't around, but he expects that (he's looking for Ciel with Meryl, he'd mentioned it earlier), and has no reason to worry. And ever since his first kidnapping with the Malnosso, Luke has been an ever-existent presence somewhere in his mind, at the back or the fore, depending on the strength of the link at the time. But now-

His eyes widen, and he sits straight up in bed, shoving the covers off and focusing intently for a moment. It's pointless - the connection's been severed.

Luke's gone.]

....dammit... dammit...!

[Time to curl up and try to go back to sleep. Maybe it's some sort of bad dream...]

[WELL HOW THE HECK AM I GONNA GET IN THERE.

Okay fine, she taps at the window and gives a familiar "Aroo".]

...Oh. The dog. Ammy. Right...]

...Hold on.

[A distraction is probably good for him right about now, so Asch forces himself out of bed and heads over to open the window. He looks a little worse for wear, but it's not like he's been crying his eyes out. Just... pained, really. And a little lonely.]

What're you doing here?

[And she jumps right in that window and to the floor, right near his hand, and she looks up at him with concern. It's obvious that something's wrong, and when it's obvious, that means something's really wrong.]

[Since no one else is around, and Luke isn't there to poke at his mind and see what he's doing, Asch just goes ahead and kneels down beside her, winding an arm around her fluffy neck and burying his face into her fur. There's little sense in beating around the bush when he knows exactly what he wants right now.

Besides, Ammy won't judge him. He's allowed to feel conflicted about this... right?]

[Of course he is. Ammy doesn't know what's wrong nor does she expect him to say so; She just rests her chin on his shoulder and leans on him. There are times when words don't need to be exchanged, after all, especially in her case.]

[That's wonderful, and he's grateful, even if he doesn't say it. He's just going to stay like that for a while.]
