Asch is wandering around the village a bit, looking for a good spot to practice some artes without killing anyone, maybe get some thinking done somewhere other than at home. He's not in any particular mood, good or bad, so if you're lucky you'll catch his good side. His journal is open since he's checking a folded map he's got attached to it, so if you're lucky, you might hear him muttering a bit.]

...so the lake's... further west from here. Damned trees turned me around...

[Aaaand Asch ducks his head down again, scowling underwater. You're mean, Guy, rubbing it in like that.]

Oh Asch, c'mon- [Guy dives back under and drags Asch over to the dock.] Don't pout, I was just teasing you.

I'm not pouting. I'm trying to rethink my strategies. [Asch gives Guy a little nudge to try and make him let go.] I need to get the Key, hold on a minute.

[Guy does indeed release him, and climbs up onto the dock, stretching out in the sunlight. It's a little chilly, but the sun's warm and so are the planks against his back.]

[Cue a brief pause while Asch retrieves his soggy sword, dragging it and himself back up on the dock and stretching out beside Guy, eyes closed.] ... I'll keep practicing.

[Guy just hums, eyes closed, and reaches over to lace their fingers together.]

[You dork. Asch gives it a little squeeze. This could turn out to be a nice little pastime for them.]

[Guy wouldn't mind it; he likes swimming, he likes Asch. He's not so keen on the fighting as Asch is, but he's willing to suffer through that for some swimming.]

[Compromises are wonderful, and they're still working on this. Still, it's nice that things are developing well.]

[Guy is perfectly adept at making compromises, punk. You're the one that needs toe work.]

[..... Yeah, true. :|;; But at least he's making the attempt...?]

[That's definitely progress.

Guy slides his free hand beneath his hair, stretching with a content sigh.]

[Asch glances over at him at the sound, then shifts a little, resting shoulder to shoulder with him. He's never been good at the whole PDA thing - he wouldn't want to see it if he wasn't involved, so why would anyone else? - but there's nothing wrong with getting cozy.]

You know, [Guy murmured, lips quirking up into an amused smile, though he didn't move otherwise] we're doing exactly what you didn't want to do out here. Lazing around.

[Asch blinks at first, then lifts a brow, taking note of Guy's expression. Teasing bastard.] If you'd rather fight, I don't have any objections.

Nah. I'm fine here.

...Me too. [Especially after the last experiment, whatever it was. Too much running around accomplishing nothing, too reminiscent of how he used to live. It's nice to have a bit of relaxation time.]

If we lay out here much longer though, we'll probably catch something. [Note how Guy is not moving.]

We'll probably get sunburned long before that. [Note how Asch isn't either.]

I won't. You might, though. [Guy gives Asch's pale arm a little poke.]

Probably. I get that from Mother. [Princess Pale Skin herself. Yet another thing he got from one of his most favourite people ever.]

Her Grace is pretty pale, but that's usually how Kimlascans are.

It comes from sitting around indoors playing with fonmachines while the Malkuthians are out in the sun.

There is nothing wrong with sitting outside and playing with fonmachines. [Guy says this with the tone of a petulant child.]

You're such a hopeless dork. [Amused Asch is amused.]
