[Totally locked from Bob for future lulz.]

I can't believe I'm doing this.

I'm Asch.

[.....Does he have to explain more?]

...Guy mentioned me the other day.

[More?]

...Don't feel obligated to talk to me just because he asked.

[Maybe that was too much.]

....I'll try to be friendly if you do, though.

[Wait that came out wrong.]

....Right.

[That should do it.]

[Oh--well in that case!]

Okay, so that was a sort of a rude greeting on my part. Maybe I'm the one who should be trying.

I'm Buffy. Pleased to meet you--[uh, come on memory!]--Asch?

[Luckily, Buffy has a +10 bonus in Socializing.]

So this..Guy--[Resisting urge to pun, resisting!]--why'd he ask for people to talk to you?

Ah, the old enforced fun shtick. Darn those kinds who go out and try and spread the joy of being personable to other--well--persons.

Then he's a good friend--that's what good friends do. They worry and they go out and do things about that worry that occasionally lead to awkward hijinks. I should know because I've been a good friend before.

[A breezy laugh.] Don't worry. The socializing thing? It gets easier the more practice you get.

Something like this. But, to be honest? My style is probably more cruel and humiliating than your friend's little ploy, here. Consider yourself fortunate--if I were in his shoes I would have dropped intimate details in the interest of sparking conversation between you and strangers.

[That little photo square? Showing a great big grin.]

Nothing too juicy. Just, like, who they were crushing on the tenth grade or what embarrassing substances they've snort-laughed through their nose.

For a few days, but you'd get over it. They always do. Plus, you'd have pre-broken ice between you and a once-a-stranger, soon-to-be-new-friend. So in the end, it all ends in gratitude.

[A pause.] Or, maybe, hair-pulling.

Everyone gets juvenile, now and again.

Point to you. Still, I think the urge to be juvenile can run pretty high for most folks.

Point taken exceptionally to heart, Asch.

I told you it got easier with practice! Agreeing is just the start. Agreeing leads to smiling which leads to laughing.
