[Asch is in the wooded area in front of house 5, close to the crossroads but facing away, working through his techniques and practicing his fonic artes. He's been pretty irate since his conversation with Natalia, and after Jacob's sacrifice and his discussion with Guy, he's more focused than before, but he's still not in the best of moods.

[Asch gives him a wary look, unmoving for a moment, then finally reaches out to shake his hand. He's still undecided about the man himself, but as the emperor, it's better to be diplomatic for now.]

[Or rather, what he's been told. Lies and rumours can be stirred up by a name like 'Asch the Bloody' no matter where you go.]

[Good things, bad things, what does it matter when you're supposed to be dead? Luckily, Peony devoured everything in the guide and is prepared for something like this.]

I've kept my eye on the God Generals for a while now. I know you're different from the others.

[Asch turns away a bit, feigning disinterest.]

I'm not looking for you to be impressed. Due to certain circumstances, I found myself relying on Luke and the others to do what needed to be done.

Trusting in them, you're lucky anything got done at all.

[Asch just responds with a vague grunt, unwilling to acknowledge that, especially to someone who's essentially a stranger.]

[Peony also stays silent, contemplating the risks of bothering Asch even more.]

[No risks as extreme as "get your face cut off", seeing as he's not stupid and he doesn't want Guy to bitch him out for it. But since Peony isn't speaking to him anymore, he turns back to his exercises.]

[He shrugs, walking away. He decides to leave Asch to his training. For now.]
