[Asch is in the wooded area in front of house 5, close to the crossroads but facing away, working through his techniques and practicing his fonic artes. He's been pretty irate since his conversation with Natalia, and after Jacob's sacrifice and his discussion with Guy, he's more focused than before, but he's still not in the best of moods.

His journal is open on a rock nearby in case something else happens or he's needed for something; feel free to a) see him, b) hear him shouting out random attacks, c) troll, or d) ignore entirely. |Db]

Guess so. [Guy sits up, legs out and folding his hands in his lap.]

[Guy opens his mouth immediately; a syllable escapes ("I-") before he falls silent and his mouth closes with a click. No...he needs to take some time with this answer.

Guy brings his knees up, similar to Asch's own pose, and loosely loops his arms around them, holding his wrist.]

...I still hate him.

[Asch closes his eyes. It... it's kind of hard to hear it, but at the same time, he's not surprised.]

I figured as much.

[Guy rests his forehead against his knee; he doesn't want to talk about this. He doesn't want to talk about this.]

I know killing him would...wouldn't just be pointless, it would be wrong...but I still...!

[Asch is quiet for a moment, glancing over at him. He almost reaches out, then hesitates, hand lowering. Let's... try something else.]

He held me, before we all went to the tower. He and Mother did. [He pauses.] He'd never done that before.

[Guy doesn't move. What's he trying to say...?]

[Hear him out, jeez. :|]

...I couldn't hold him back. I couldn't forgive him. Saying he was sorry... just because he was afraid? How does that make things right?

[Guy slowly lifts his head, laying his cheek on his knee and looking over at Asch. His expression looks painfully conflicted.]

[Asch looks up as well, watching him uncertainly.]

I think I understand. Not... completely, I know. Not the same way. But I don't blame you for hating him.

Not when I do too, sometimes.

[Guy looks away at that.]

[And Asch waits, worried, because he's not sure if he said the wrong thing or what. He knows he's terrible at this.]

[Asch opens his mouth, shuts it, and then looks down again, choosing instead to say nothing; he doubts there's anything he can say to make it better.]

[After a moment Guy turns and casts a smile at Asch, throwing an arm around his shoulders and leaning closer.] Anyway, enough of this. If you'd still like to spar, I'm definitely up to it.

[Asch blinks, surprised by the sudden attention, and glances sidelong at him.]

...You want to?

Sure, now that you've got all that aggression out of your system. I'm tough but I'm not stupid.

Not intentionally, but I know you. You put your heart into things, and if your heart is furious then inadvertently you'd be rougher than usual. It's fine.

Well, are you still angry? Because I'm fine with it now. I should probably practice against somebody who can't easily chop me up like butter before I go up against someone who could.
