I need to speak with one of the Malnosso.

[Today, Asch is all over the place. First to the plaza, to check the item bazaar for a few things; next, to the north edge of the village, above the houses, his favourite spot to ~~blow shit up~~ practice his fonic artes; finally, to the opposite edge, sword practice against the targets inside the barracks. He's gotten so restless since Luke's disappearance and he needs to stay on the move to avoid going crazy.

Feel free to bother him at any of those locations or even en route; he could use some socializing.]

[Ha, like he wants Guy's oh-so subtle rejection again. Asch heads out after he's finished his dinner, spotting the open door, and contemplates it for all of ten seconds before walking in the opposite direction to wash his dishes. Let the game continue.]

[Oh Asch, you need to work on your reading. Since that was an invitation.

Guy'll wait, and when Asch passes by, he'll peer curiously out of his door. He really doesn't feel like being generous -or even civil- but it's not like he wants to fight with Asch forever.

...and it really was such a little thing.

So Guy heads out to the kitchen.]

[Considering he's already tried apologizing twice and Guy refused, can you blame him? Asch is only partway through the dishes when Guy arrives, and he glances back at the sound of footsteps, expression wary. Now what?]

[Guy looks down, folding his arms and leaning against the doorjamb as he scuffs his boot against the ground.]

...I may have overreacted.

[Asch averts his eyes at that, lifting the tray to wipe it down.] ...You didn't. [It really was uncalled for. He just hadn't expected it to be so unforgivable.]

[Well, the grudge-holding was what he was referring to, so Guy rubs the back of his neck.] Sorry.

...Are you alright now? [He's still cautious, so he wants to be sure. Scrub, scrub, set aside, scrub, scrub...]

Enough. [Guy has a seat at the table.]

[Asch pauses to consider that, setting aside the last dish and drying his hands before stepping over to the table beside Guy, hands braced on the back of another chair.] ...I don't... really think, when I say most things. ["I'm sorry" just feels so hollow, knowing what the problem is.]

[Oh Asch you say that like it's some big revelation.] I know that. That's why I shouldn't have taken it so hard.

[E-erm. Well.] It's not your responsibility to be immune to my mistakes. Go ahead and get angry- maybe that way I'll actually learn instead of doing the same thing over and over.

I don't know Asch, you seem to enjoy learning things the hard way. Maybe you're some kind of social masochist.

[.....You know, he can't even deny it.] Sh-shut up.

[Guy laughs, and like that the tension is broken. At least, it is for him. Asch might want to angst about it some more.] If you really feel the need to make it up to me still, I could use some coffee.

You drink too much of that. [He could angst, sure, but if Guy's laughing about it, then the worst is probably over. Despite his words he turns back to the counter to start boiling the kettle.]

I do not, I barely drink it. I just need something stronger than tea right now.

[Wait.] ...Asch. Why are you using the kettle?

[....] How else am I going to make coffee?

[Oh right, Guy hasn't shown Asch yet.

So. Now he gleefully shall. Guy pulls the coffee maker over from the corner he'd shoved it into and presents it as if it were the Jewel of Lorelei.]

Look.

What the hell is that? [And why does it fill him with dre- oh wait, because it's Guy. And technology.

Maybe he should sit down- this could get lengthy.]

It's a coffee maker! [Chipper! Guy begins to demonstrate.] Look, see- you plug this in here, it works a lot like third fonons. And then you put the coffee grinds up in here, and the water in here. And then it boils the water itself, and filters the coffee itself into this glass pot!

Isn't that ingenious?

...Ingenious. Right. [Come on, Asch, you could at least pretend to be excited. Guy's missed his fontech a lot, after all, and... well, alright, it is kind of... interesting. In a dorky sort of way.]

...you don't think it's interesting?

[This face. He's pretty sure that he can't lie that well.]

...well I guess that's understandable. [SADLY MAKES COFFEE.]
