[There's a brief shuffle, and a strained gasp, before a voice speaks up. Someone's back from a little excursion with John. He doesn't have the energy to lock it.]

[Teasing Asch isn't exactly helping to calm him down, but it is distracting him from his hyperresonance problems.

...and it's hilarious.

So Guy returns with a smile on his face and a tray with soup and tea in his hands.]

[In that time Asch has managed to get a pair of pants on, huzzah! And he's still pissed off, yep. Sulking on the bed now.]

[STEW STEW STEW ohey stew. Soup. Close enough.

And this is about the time that Asch remembers he's hungry, because spending days underground is not good for one's health. And Guy makes good soup.]

[And Asch is eating fine so that's good. Guy gives him some time to get that ravenous appetite sated before speaking.] Do you remember anything?

[Predictably-] No. I don't even remember being taken away from here.

Hm. [Guy doesn't really like that, but it's not like he can do anything about it.

He gestures to the bowl.] More?

[Asch shakes his head, averting his gaze and clenching his hands into fists in his lap.]

...I should be grateful, shouldn't I.

[Buh? That's a surprise.]

If he'd done it for your sake, he'd have been much kinder about it. He probably used you so I don't see why you should have to feel grateful.

[He has a point. Not like Asch is particularly inclined to feel grateful towards the scientist, anyway. He hates scientists.]

It's just a hassle, anyway. Now I'll have to learn how to control it all over again.

[Asch pauses at that. He hasn't given the drafts much thought, not for a long while.]

It's still too dangerous to use hyperresonance in battle.

Dangerous for you, or for everyone else around you?

For everyone else. I've never been hurt by a hyperresonance, but in battle, there's too much going on to focus and control it properly. I could kill an ally without even realizing it.

I'm sure they'd rather be dead than sacrificed.

And I'm sure the people I'd kill would be real understanding if I told them that.

[Guy doesn't voice that he doesn't care how understanding other people are so long as Asch stays alive.]

[Asch is silent for a moment, studying Guy's expression. Finally he shakes his head, sipping at his tea. Truth be told, if he had to kill another ally to keep Guy alive, he'd probably do it in a heartbeat.]

You'll just have to come with me and make sure it doesn't come to that.
