[After getting violently ejected from his own house, Asch has set up temporary shop in Good Spirits until he figures out where to go (and whether or not to try and evict Guy and get his house back). Since Guy apparently hit his head and can't even remember working there, Asch is hoping that the bar will be the last place he'll have to worry about running into Guy again. And it's not like dealing with the shop is particularly hard; all you have to do is pour drinks and listen to people's griping, and what good is a replica if he can't do that in Asch's place? ...The listening part, anyway. Floating glasses of alcohol might give people the wrong idea.

So in short, Asch will be doing two things today: shopping and carrying groceries back to the bar to stock up, or hanging out in the bar and trying not to attempt to murder his invisible companion. Stupid drecks and their attempts at impressing him. He's not really used to being around a lot of people, so he easily forgets that he's the only one who can see Luke. Thus:]

I already told you to keep your feet on the ground. You could at least pretend to be normal.

[....]

Shut up! Stop doing that, I don't need help.

[....]

Just be quiet already!!

[...Yeah he's a little crazy in public this week.]

[Hands on hips now, in a gesture that should look very familiar to Asch.]

[That's nice, Ratatosk. You can act like a prissy princess, good for you!]

[Sensing a conflict, Luke floats over Ratatosk, reaching out to tryn and touch him. Maybe he can offer a better explanation.]

The hell--

[Ratatosk's first instinct is to back away from the spirit, suspicious more because it's Luke than because of what he is.]

Don't bother, he won't listen if you try to avoid it. [Asch scowls from the bar, sounding like he speaks from experience. Luke just smiles innocently and tries again.]

[This time Ratatosk will hold still, though his muscles are tense, clearly not happy about this entire situation.]

[Good man, Ratty. Luke presses his ghostly hands lightly over Ratatosk's, spreading a soft feeling of calm though him, if he allows it. With that touch comes a quiet explanation- of their connected fonons, of Asch's death and revival, and of Luke's state of being. Hopefully Ratatosk will find that explanation to be reasonably understandable.

In the midst of it all there's a quiet curiosity he can't quell- about a young blond-haired boy whose eyes sometimes change to red.

Asch watches from the counter, brow lifting as Luke looks up and smiles again.]

...Well?

[Ratatosk remains silent throughout, just taking in this explanation and these images... but when the image of that blond boy pops up, a flicker of strange familiarity causes him to scowl slightly. He's seen that boy before, he KNOWS it, but he can't remember where.

At last, however, his expression returns to a neutral one as Luke moves away.]

If all of that really happened, then when the hell did Luke get back here?

What are you talking about? He's been here with me all this time.

No he hasn't. I told you, he got sent home a few months ago.

You're the one with the defective memory if you can't even remember something like that.

[Okay, no wonder he hates Ratatosk.] Get out.

[Asch very nearly gets up to do just that, but Luke hastily moves between them urgently. Remember how you two beat the snot out of each other that one time? Yeah.]

Why the hell are you still even here? You know about Luke, now leave us alone.

... fine. But you might want to look into getting those memory problems of yours fixed before you forget something that's really important.
