[Asch is hoping that a certain someone will get the message, but he doesn't lock it or anything. If she ignores it, it's not like he has to acknowledge it later.

...That's Asch-logic, anyway.

Message sent, though, Asch won't be sticking around the house too much today. With Luke hacking up a lung every few minutes, there's no point in trying to rest there. He'll check on Natalia first- whether she's at home or still recovering in the battle dome hospital, though whether she's in the dome or not he'll get some training done. His simulation involves being hopelessly outnumbered in a very white room full of intricate statues. And he leaves very disgruntled. (Why does he do this crap to himself, seriously.)

...He'll also raid the medical cabinets for sleeping pills, though for Luke or himself, who can tell?

On the way home he'll spend some time in the plaza picking up supplies. All in all it's a very uninteresting day in the life of Asch the Bloody.]

Oh, they have plenty of food. Didn't you see me bringing it all home earlier?

[She just folds her hands in her lap and lets him do that. There's a couple of plastic cups in there and a bottle of water, too, since she's not sure what kind of drink he might like.]

[Rrgh. She has a point there. But his nature demands resistance 8|a ...First he'll serve it up though, and pour the water. He's not going to require fancy-pants drinks, after all.

With the food out of the way, though, he's... a bit at a loss.]

We eat. We talk. Just like we always do.

[Come on, Asch, it's not that hard! Stella won't tease about it, though, only smile and start what she suggested - eating. Thankfully, the restaurant provides silverware at the tables, so no getting our hands dirty.]

["Always"... easier said than done. But the easy bit is the eating, so he'll just follow her lead.

...It's good. [omg chicken is amazing.]

[Then Stella will lead. She's not sure if she's told this to Asch before or not, having forgotten a lot of her experiences in Luceti, but she only shows her hesitation over this by shoving her food for a few seconds.]

I've always cooked for our family, ever since I was small...

That long? [It's out before he can consider the question. Most people don't start cooking that early, do they?]

Mmhmm, that long. [The reasons for it can wait.] But it's grown into something I enjoy doing. You could even call it a habit!

[Now it's your turn!] Do you cook, Asch?

[Fidget. Bite. DELAY.] If necessary. Guy does most of the cooking at our place.

Hmm... I think I might have to try Guy's cooking sometime. [And see if it's better than hers. Not competitive, nooo.]

Just come over sometime, he wouldn't care. [Or rather, he'd probably welcome her, but whatever. And that might just count as an invitation.]

[Well, Stella isn't going to pass up this opportunity, so she rests her chin in her hands and sways her legs.]

Oh? Was that an invitation?

[Wh- ...oh. Wow, that was an invitation, wasn't it. :|;;]

If... that's what you want. [She knows how to cook such lovely chicken and she wants to eat at his house? Okay then, whatever Stella.]

[Sometimes it's nice to have people cook for you when you do it all the time. :|]

Of course I do! [Still keeping her chin propped on one hand, Stella takes the fork with her other hand and stabs at the chicken, holding up a piece thoughtfully.]

You know, we live so far away from everyone else... My family and myself. Maybe I should talk them into moving closer.

I don't know if there are any houses available nearby.

[...That... sounds like he's discouraging her. Damn. Really, he wouldn't mind if she-]

[She sighs, though, and lowers the fork a little.]

But, I don't know... the rest of the household seems content with being so removed. [Whereas Stella kind of hates it, considering how much she likes to be near people. Not to mention how long it takes to get to the plaza and back, or to visit her dear friends...]

Then just move on your own.

[It's stated pretty deadpan- as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.]

Where you live shouldn't depend on them.

[Oh, Stella can't help but give a helpless smile at that.]

I'm afraid it's not that simple... Sophie's there, as well as Shirley. And Fenimore won't let Shirley go without her.

It is that simple- Sophie's your kid, and you have the free will to do it if you want it badly enough. You're the one complicating things.

[And finally, she'll eat that piece of chicken she's been waving around, and she looks down at the table thoughtfully. She really does appreciate Asch's brute honesty; it's nice to have someone show her that what she's doing isn't the best idea and turn it around for her.]

I told you before- looking out for your own interests isn't selfish. The only one you have to take care of is Sophie.

[No sense in beating around the bush or sugarcoating it. She's an adult, they're adults- it's an easy choice, in his mind.]

[Nomnomnom - she's not about to talk with her mouth full, that's just improper. So, she'll wait a moment before she speaks up again.]

I suppose... I'm not used to looking after my own interests. [What an uncomfortable topic. But... somehow, it's okay, talking about it with Asch.]

Try it. You might enjoy it. [Munch, munch. He's not really the expert on selfishness- most of the last year or so of his life was spent pushing himself into the grave for the sake of the world. But maybe it's because of it that he's allowed to indulge a little here, in Luceti- where it doesn't matter.

She deserves as much, too... especially considering her life, and how she died.]

I can't guarantee I'll get used to it right away.

[Stella can't really remember the last time she did something out of her own interest without thinking about others; Ever since they lost their parents, Stella stepped into the role of caretaker at way too early of an age. You don't have time to be selfish when you've got so much to take care of.]

[...Hmm. Asch is quiet for a moment, mulling that over. Finally he speaks up again, lifting his gaze to give her a steady look.]

What's something self-indulgent that you want to do, right here, right now?
