Natalia's gone back.
[And he's... not sure how he even feels about that, especially since it's the second time now. He's not the sort to broadcast his feelings on the matter anyway, so he'll leave it at that.]
[Locked to Dist - 75% Unhackable]
If you've prepared everything you need, it's about time we meet.
[Asch won't be around the house much today; he'll probably be home late. His main haunts today will be the Battle Dome, the library, (maybe a quick bite to eat in the plaza |D) and finally Good Spirits tosulk read a book in a tucked-away corner of the bar. ...Though the amount of reading may decrease depending on what he's drinking over the course of the evening...
Oddly enough, Star the cheagle will be tagging along with him over the course of the day.]

Well...he did give Asch his word he'd try. That much, he could do.]
Understood. I'll see you at the Battle Dome's medical facility as soon as possible. [A pause.] ...And bring your little pet. The cheagle that I had experimented on. If it's capable of speech here, it may prove useful.
[As much as the little creature had tried to avoid him whenever he came over, Dist had caught glimpses of it out of the corner of his eye here and there.]
[Voice| Locked]
Why do you need the cheagle? He's not going to want to see you.
[Voice| Locked]
Honestly... Because, as I said, I had experimented on that particular cheagle. If it's the one I think it may very well be...then whatever information I get from it will be very helpful. Unless you'd like me to experiment on you instead, Asch. I wouldn't mind in the slightest, though I'd need to acquire a heavy sedative first...
[Just to shut you up.]
[Voice| Locked]
[Arrrrgh, he could kill you 8|]
Fine, I'll bring him. But don't push your luck.
[And you better believe he'll be armed.]
[Voice| Locked]
Good. I'll see you and your pet soon enough.
[Dist closes his journal and makes his way to the Battle Dome. It was quite a walk, even though he was a little closer - being near the library and all - but he'll increase his pace and may relatively good time in arriving there.]

[Action]
Inside here, Asch.
[Action]
We already talked about this, dammit! He's not... ugh. Stupid. Hey, Dist, say something nice to the damn cheagle already!
[Action]
Which are you, original or replica? [He has a good guess, but might as well get it straight.]
[Action]
...HE'D DO IT ANYWAY THOUGH except Star shakily pipes up that he's the original. And that... is not what Asch expected to hear.]
...What? I thought you were the replica!
[Action]
[Action]
I died first. Then I felt something warm, and I woke up... and my replica was gone.
[Action]
I see... Thank you. [He scribbles more down, and motions towards a bowel of greens set out for the little animal. He can eat if he wants.] And you, Asch? Are you experiencing instability? If so, how long has it been occurring?
[Action]
My body's been feeling strange since the replica came back to Luceti. So... roughly five months.
[He's rather uncomfortable with the implications of that, but he doesn't speak up.]
[Action]
He stood, prepared the items to draw blood, and approached Asch with the needle.]
What I can gather, your body had been relatively stable without the replica's presence, as your fonons had no place to disperse to. Once he was brought here was the moment your dissonance began, and your body's fonon began to separate. ...I can't tell you how to stop it, but you've proven to be rather stubborn when it comes to dying, Asch. I can at least determine the rate of which your fonons are fading, and I can possibly find a way to prolong the Big Bang for as long as I can.
Though that all depends on my finding with your blood. If your fonons are disappearing at a significant pace, there is not much I can do. [He pushed up his glasses, sighing.] ...Roll back your sleeve.
[Action]
There's something you should know- I already died here once. It's been more than two years now, according to Luceti's calendar. [He pauses, and then adds in a voice as neutral as he can make it-] My fonons separated entirely. There was no Big Bang.
[Action]
[Asch died, his fonons separated, but...no Big Bang? How? How was that possible?! Jade's theory was foolproof! If the replica was involved, that's what should have happened, and if not, then...then Asch shouldn't have been encountering any dissonance, either. That didn't make any sense!
Calming himself down a moment later, Dist sighed, and took Asch's arm, cleaning the area where he'd insert the needle first. He motioned for Asch to sit, or lay down. He'll feel a little faint afterward, and Dist wasn't about to go out of his way to catch him should he faint.]
...I'll be sure to make a note of that. Now, hold still...you may feel a bit light-headed afterward. You haven't eaten anything prior, have you? Or, say...the past twelve hours or so. [Because that'd compromise the blood test.]
[Action]
Seeking a distraction, he chooses to simply cooperate again, for the moment. Asch isn't about to lie down with Dist right there, but he does sit, refusing to watch.]
I haven't eaten, either. I came straight here.
[Action]
With a heavy sigh, Dist cataloged what Asch said to memory, instead going about with the process of drawing his blood once he was seated.]
...Good. If you had, our meeting today would have been for naught. You should be done in just a moment, though I suggest not moving afterward until you feel well enough. A few minutes should do it. [Dist finishes up, cleans the area again, and places a bit of gauze and bandage over it.] You might feel soreness and/or stiffness in your arm a few hours afterward. Bruising of the area is normal as well, and will fade quickly enough.
I'll get this sample tested immediately; stay here and don't move.
[Action]
So he'll just sit there like a lump. An irritated, tired lump. B|]
[Action]
Thankfully. Dist doesn't take longer than about twenty minutes and he's back looking a bit hopeful. Pleased, even, if only just a little bit. Once back, he looks Asch over to make sure he was awake enough to listen. Satisfied he was, Dist begins to explain his findings.]
I'm pleased to say, Asch, that the rate of your fonons' separation is dramatically slower than I had first anticipated. It's not exact, but I estimate that you'll have quite a few years to live, if you can withstand the constant pain of your dissonance. In light of the aforementioned, I'd like to check up on you routinely, to make absolutely certain that the rate of deterioration does not increase somehow.
I can also try to give you something to numb the constant pain, but don't count too much on that, I'm not a pharmacist.
[Action] wtf lj why was this thread randomly frozen
Belately he recalls that Dist had mentioned painkillers, and he nods slightly after some hesitation. He's doing his best to conceal it, but he'll probably be in shock for a while.
HIS MIND, SHE IS BLOWN.]
...Can you estimate what'll happen to my replica?
[Action] we were too hot for it, bb
Not without something to work with... I can't do anything with nothing, you see, especially since I've been forbidden to involve anyone but you, Asch. ...Though, if you can get me a sample - blood, hair, whatever - I can do my best to analyze it and give you whatever information I come up with.
[Action] oh baby yeah
I'll bring you something. You can use that.
