["I think you should sleep in your own room for a while, Asch."

He hasn't forgotten those words- despite Guy saying they're okay, they haven't exactly shared much living space lately. Since being banished from Guy's room, he hasn't spent a lot of time in the house, or speaking to anyone else in particular, really. Self-exile is one of his best talents, after all. And even though he can normally handle being on his own, he can't help but feel bothered by it- after all, it's Guy himself who told him it wasn't healthy, the last time they fought. It's the only thing that's kept him from outright leaving the house.

Eventually, he's had enough, though, so early this morning he heads to Guy's room, knocking briefly as a pointless warning before opening the door and peering in, calling out as he does so.]

Guy? We need to-

[.........................................SOMETHING IS AMISS.]

[Startled enough that the point makes Luke take a step or two back as if Asch had punched him instead of just pointing. And... that part's true, too. When he was little - when he was created, he couldn't walk, couldn't talk, couldn't do anything. But still...

All of this is unnecessary, and there are more important things to be worrying about, so Luke takes a step forward and takes in a breath to say something again-]

[-which is completely unnecessary, because at that moment Guy lunges forward and slugs Asch right across the jaw.]

[...In hindsight he should have expected that. His head is jerked to the side from the force of the punch, and it makes him pause- but only momentarily. With an angry snarl he lashes out to respond in kind. If Guy wants a fight he's going to get just that.]

[Whoa whoa whoa Guy just-

Is Asch o-

And now Asch just-

... Yeah, all Luke can do is stand there with wide eyes his mouth gaping open for a moment. He's so shocked that he can't really do anything else.]

[Guy tastes blood with Asch's punch -because oh yeah, Asch has been trained in other kinds of combat, not just swords like he has- but it doesn't make any difference. While Luke stands there attracting flies Guy escalates the scuffle into a full-blown brawl, grabbing Asch's collar and attempting to take him to the ground. There's no elegance or purpose to it, Guy just wants to hit Asch and still, during every other part of him insisting that this is a really bad idea and that he's being ridiculous part of him still sighs, finally.

It's about damn time.]

[Asch struggles against Guy, standing his ground with as much strength as he can put into it. He's not going to let Guy get the best of him, not over this. With Guy holding his collar, Asch lifts his fist again, trying for an uppercut.]

Get the hell off!

[... Okay, yeah, Luke knows that it's a good thing to let it all out once in a while, and hell knows that Guy needs it more than anyone. Luke is all for it when people stop bottling their emotions up, even if it means blowing up and brawling over it. Hell, Xion did that and he was okay with it.

But taking it out on Asch? No, Luke can't accept that. So once he snaps out of it, Luke grits his teeth and moves to grab one of Guy's arms and pull back, trying to make him loosen his hold on Asch.]

Guy, Asch!

[By the time Luke pries Guy off of Asch Guy has a bloodied nose and a split lip, and he's spitting blood onto the ground as he breathes hard and glares at Asch. He's irrationally angry, but as he drags his wrist across his chin and it comes away smudged red he realizes he feels a little bit better.

...Asch is still a tactless, cheating asshole though.]

[Asch steps back as Luke restrains Guy, gritting his teeth and glaring right back. He doesn't say anything; he has a feeling he doesn't need to. Guy's saying plenty with just his eyes.

He doesn't feel like talking anymore.]

[Luke pulls Guy just a little further away and tightens his grip, as if to say to stay there or else he'll just jump in again or maybe get just as involved, then lets go of him to get in between them.]

What the hell is wrong with you two?! You're acting like a couple of wild monsters!

[Guy huffs again, trying to get some of the blood out of his nose, then turns and climbs through the wreckage of his room. Never mind that Asch blew up his room, probably destroyed half his clothes and the other items Guy has accumulated since arriving in Luceti over two years ago. Never mind that everything that falls out of Asch's damn mouth sounds like he examined every single way to phrase it and chose the most cutting. Never mind that just a second ago, Luke was hunched over and trembling because of the things Asch had just said.

No, Guy was the wild monster here. Whatever.

Guy opts to completely ignore the other two in favor of crouching down and reaching beneath the wreckage of his bed for his safe box, where he's been stockpiling whatever gels and bottles he could scrape together from miscellaneous sources. He pulls out the box, wrestles with it for a bit until it opens and selects an apple gel, wincing as he lifts it to his mouth to tear at the plastic packaging.]

...Just shut up... Luke. [The name is added to the end as an afterthought; what he'd really wanted to do is insult him, call him dreck or replica or something. It always made him feel a little better. That would just make it all worse, though- that's what Guy is so pissed off about, after all. Insulting Luke when he hadn't even been trying to.

...Hell. If anything he'd been trying to defend his stupid replica, but of course they'd misunderstood.

Glancing around the room, he knows he should help clean up as well, seeing as he caused the entire mess, but... he really just wants to get the hell out of there, more than anything. And then Guy would bitch him out for doing that. Goddammit. Goddammit. So he just stands there like a lump, trying to decide how to get out of here without inviting another argument.

Why do their fights always come to this?]

[That's one of the few times Asch bothered to call him "Luke". It makes Luke blink and let the anger bleed out in favor of surprise before he shakes his head and grits his teeth. Luke could handle play-fights, concealed arguments and yelling at people who wanted to do something stupid, but real fights like this? He isn't sure what to say, not with the tension so thick that one as oblivious as Luke can see it plain as day. Usually Jade or someone would intervene before it got this far.

But Jade isn't here, it did get this far and Luke was part of the blame. So... What should he do?]

I can't just stay quiet and watch you two fight like this! Look, if the room's the problem, we can just apologize and clean it up, not let it get worse while we fight over it!

It's not the room, Luke.

[But bless your simple little heart for thinking so. Guy gingerly feels his nose for anything that needs to be set before swallowing the apple gel.]

You two go. I can salvage what I want out of here. The room will fix itself in a couple days anyway.

[Asch glances at Guy, then at Luke. Thinks for a moment.

Guy doesn't often explode like that- almost never, in fact. And this has nothing really to do with Luke, he was just... conveniently there. And a replica. Useful for justification, really. If he hadn't shown up-

...But thinking like that is pointless. The fact of the matter is this: Guy is still angry. With him.

So it's not okay. It was never okay.

Asch closes his eyes briefly, swallowing back what he'd like to say for once. His instincts are to get the hell out, and that's just what he's going to do. Reaching out, he grabs the collar of Luke's shirt and turns away, heading out into the hallway and dragging Luke along with him, whether he likes it or not.]

[Luke had reached out, though whether it's to help Guy with cleaning the place or to set a hand on his shoulder for support will be a mystery, as Asch grabs his collar and drags him out of the room. He gives a rather undignified squawk over the treatment, but he still lets Asch drag him away, even if he fights back a little by grabbing onto the doorjamb lightly. He's pulled away from it easily, anyway.

He'd like to apologize to Guy and help him, but... in a way, he also wants to get out of there. Guy was angry, really angry, and over something that wasn't just the room. It had to be Asch, but... what had Asch done? He brought up some valid points over the replica thing, so... why?

Maybe Luke can sneak into Guy's room and put a few decorations in while he's away later. A flower or something, to give him something pleasant to look at while the room fixes itself. But for now, he just lets Asch drag him wherever he's going.]

[Asch drags him halfway down the hall like that before he stops, releasing Luke's collar and letting his hand drop to his side, remaining still for a long moment. Dammit, why did nothing ever go the way he planned it to? Ever since that experiment... it's all been wrong, it's all been ruined. And who the hell is he supposed to talk about this with? The only ones he could were already involved.

Dammit, dammit, dammit...

Belatedly he realizes Luke is still there, so he continues moving forward, heading for the kitchen.]

[Once Asch lets go of him, Luke rubs the back of his neck and turns his head to look back at him. Just from Asch's posture alone, Luke can tell that he knows something about what's going on. Normally, he'd just get the hell out of there after something like that, but... He honestly looks frustrated and kind of sad. And Luke hates seeing his original like that. Not only that, but... those two are in a relationship. He doesn't want to see them fall apart over something he doesn't even know about.

Before he can speak up, though, Asch starts to move. Well, Luke isn't going to let him get away, so he follows after him, remaining silent until they reach the kitchen.]

Asch... do you know why Guy's so mad?

[Asch falters in mid-step, very briefly, then continues wordlessly until he reaches the kettle, putting it on and getting some tea for himself.]

...He's mad at me.

[And the rest is left unsaid: it's none of your business.]

[Except it is his business. Luke stops a few feet away to watch what he's doing, and he waits a second or two for some elaboration... buuut isn't surprised when he doesn't get one.]

But you didn't do anything... [Well. Nothing that's unexpected from a Fabre, anyway.]

You don't know that. [Asch's response is quick, curt, and leaves no room - in his mind, at least - for misinterpretation or more questions. Guy never gets mad without a reason, and it's usually a good one.]

... You're right; I don't know that. And I'm sick of being left in the dark, Asch! Just what the hell happened between the two of you?

[Asch's gaze flickers to his replica, eyes narrowing sharply.] It's none of your damn business, you dreck! Stay out of it!

[Luke clenches his fists at his sides, his own eyes narrowing a little.] It is my business, damn it! We're all living in the same house, you're both my friends and I don't want to see you two fall apart because of something that happened! Can't you see I want to help?

You don't see me getting involved in every little thing that happens with you and your little girlfriend, do you?
