[The journal turns on with a little crash, revealing... the ceiling. Yes, very exciting.]

Stop knocking things over!

[A small, furry black face saunters over to the journal, sniffing curiously. It meows. And then, turning, flops over right on top of it, covering the camera.]

Hey, cat, get off that, it's not your damn bed.

[A small trill, and the fuzzy thing rolls over, revealing a mildly irritated redhead.]

...What the hell? You actually turned it on? Hey, dreck, the cat's from the Dawn Age.

[His tone is even mildly amused for that one. He brushes the kitten off the journal, picking it up and half-closing it. Before it shuts, he reconsiders, then grabs the pen and scribbles out a note.]

I need to talk to you.

[There, that's good enough. Back to the whiny, needy little monstrosity who has moved on to making his own water dish into a cat bath. Surprise! Luke brought home a kitten for his very disgruntled original. What a wise decision this was, eh.]

Kitty!

[Just a few hours before that, Luke had taken a break from camping to finally pick up the kitten from a very disgruntled McCoy. He grew to like a dark male one in particular, and though cute animals aren't his thing, he was a little wary about putting it in a carrier.

As he walks to the apartment, he's starting to think he should've left it in the carrier. It's hard to carry the excited kitten in one arm and supplies in the other. A litter box with a bag of litter inside it, a food and water bowl, a potential collar, a few toys, cat food, a brush for its scruffy fur... Luke was pretty much prepared.

To get a better grip on everything he's carrying, he allows the kitten to climb up his arm and ride on his shoulders and hair, though he winces and complains about the claws that dig in. Jeez, why'd the thing have to have claws... If it was up to Luke, he'd name it Claws. But it wasn't up to Luke.

This was for Asch, after all. And... okay, maybe he was liking the kitten a little. But it still wasn't his.

Once he reaches the apartment, Luke shifts everything in his arms and manages to unlock the door, though just as he ducks his head to put the key away, the kitten overbalances and digs his claws into his scalp - ]

Owww ow ow you stupid thing!

[He drops the litter box and litter to lift the kitten away from his head and GLARE at it. Not that the kitten really cares, as he waves his tiny paws at the replica's nose. With a sigh, Luke puts the kitten back on his shoulder before he opens the door and - carefully this time - bends to pick up the supplies and head inside.]

Hey, Asch? I brought something home.

... Asch? Do you -- is that a kitten?

When? And about what? [Though he has an inkling he knows the answer to the latter question.]

[He's just flippin' through the pages when he notices this quirky little event. Now he's just kind of chuckling in his mind while slowly letting the smirk escape to his lips. You don't look like much of a cat person...

[ As an animal person, Martel cannot resist from cooing at how cute the cat is. ]

Aw! What an adorable kitten!

Maaaaan, you are so lucky. That kitten's a cutie.

You have a new kitten too? I never pictured you as a cat person, Asch.

[ That looks and awful lot like Luke - oh wait, nope, no it's not. So that must mean it's ...

He's chuckling even before he's begun to talk. Why? Because there's something funny about this entire ordeal. Just maybe. ]

So Luke's partial to cats, not cheagles?

[... Stella would coo at that thing right now if she wasn't sure Asch wouldn't be impressed. Instead, she just smiles and hides a soft giggle as the kitten is forced off of the journal, and her tone when she speaks sounds quite amused.]

I see you have a new addition to the family.
