[A small trill, and the fuzzy thing rolls over, revealing a mildly irritated redhead.]

...What the hell? You actually turned it on? Hey, dreck, the cat's from the Dawn Age.

[His tone is even mildly amused for that one. He brushes the kitten off the journal, picking it up and half-closing it. Before it shuts, he reconsiders, then grabs the pen and scribbles out a note.]

What's a Noishe? [Never heard of it.]

Oh, Noishe is the name of this creature that I've traveled with for a period of time. His race was the first to be born in my world and for his entire life he changes form until he reaches the final stage of becoming a human that fights evil.

Yes. I know it sounds strange, but it's true. Unfortunately, protozoans aren't very common. So even people from my world would be as surprised as you are when they hear about them.

So it wouldn't really count as a pet, then.

[ She lets out a meek laugh. ]

You're right about that. As a matter of fact, it doesn't please Noishe when you call him a pet.

It's strange to call an animal that can talk a "pet", anyway. It's not like anyone owns them when they have the free will and ability to refuse.

Actually, Noishe can't talk. Though if you listen to him very carefully, you might be able to understand him. My traveling companions and I are able to do that. Though I will mention that my fiance had some trouble at first, but he eventually got the hang of it. It was rather comical watching him get so frustrated.

How do you understand an animal that can't talk? [The concept, it makes no sense- ohwait, he does know Mewtwo.] Telepathy?

I'm not quite sure how to explain. Though I wouldn't call it telepathy. His mouth is moving when he speaks.
