[Asch uses his free hand to scratch at his nose, expression shifting, trying to regain a bit of his dignity. He's a future king, dammit. He needs to stand tall.]

So what happened with Master Van? He told me he let me go home... why? Why'd he replicate me if he was going to do that?

I hate to say this but.... he didn't let you go home, Luke. He sent me in your place, and took you with him to Daath.

[Asch gives him an odd look.]

I know that much. I was escaping from Daath before I came here. But I had to have gone home at some point if I became king, right?

I think you went back to Daath with Van, even after you escaped. I don't know why... since I was so young.

You didn't make it home to Baticul until over 7 years later, though.

I... what? I was in Daath for seven years? But... I was almost home...!

[Asch trembles a little, eyes lowered. He'd just gotten past Belkend, limping out of the harbour after a severe beating from the captain of the ship he'd stowed away on. It couldn't have been more than a week's journey to Baticul from there. Had Van captured him, even so close...?

[Asch ducks his head a little, blushing brightly, and doesn't say more than that. He's not used to being treated like a kid.]

[Asch frowns, then shrugs his shoulders, waiting for Luke to let them in. He tugged his hand reluctantly free, scampering inside.]

I woke up here when I first arrived. I thought someone had caught me so I left right away, but I know it was here.

[...Make yourself at home? Asch gives the replica a puzzled look, then peers around the room. The house is simple and sparsely decorated, cozy for the most part, but it was no Fabre Manor. Still, it was better than Daath or the wilderness around Choral Castle, so he started to explore, peering in rooms here and there and getting a feel for the place.]

Sort of... it's the house I woke up in when I arrived here in Luceti. I've been living here ever since.

[Asch glances back as Luke sits down, and after a bit more exploring, wanders back over to sit on the other side of the couch, not too far, but not too close, either. Luke is still mostly a stranger after all, even if their faces looked nearly the same.]

It's, uh, a nice house. Even if it is kinda small.

Yeah, it's not the manor, but it's cozy enough. But it feels more like home when other people are here.

Other people? Like who? Your friends here?

Yeah, at different times. Guy's here, for one.
