[Guy jogged along the riverside, a little bounce in his step; Asch wasn't exactly his favorite person, but for some reason he was eager to see him. Something from Auldrant.

Guy missed home...wherever that was, there. His mansion, he supposed, but the world in general. He missed the fontech -dear Lorelei he missed that- he missed Pere, and while he had Luke he still missed the others. It was the overall feeling of home; besides that, Luceti was a torture in disguise.

It didn't take long for Guy to spot Asch walking slowly alongside the river, and he untucked the shirt he'd brought with him from beneath his arm, slowing and lifting a hand in greeting.]

Asch, hey.

[Asch had been making slow but steady progress, inwardly cursing his weakness and the pain at his back. If the replica hadn't warned him about the consequences, he likely would have attempted to remove them - they were an alteration done against his will, and he hated the very idea of them. Still, he didn't want to die, so they'd have to wait until he learned more.

At the voice, he looked up, straightening his posture to conceal whatever pain he felt as he moved. No sense in starting any dramatics.]

Guy. You got here fast.

[Guy watched as Asch's shoulders squared and suppressed a smile; typical. Holding out the shirt and shifting his weight, Guy jerked a thumb over his shoulder.]

You aren't as far out as I thought you were. The village is only about ten or fifteen minutes away.

That's not so bad.

[Asch took the shirt, wasting no time in pulling it on and letting the material settle beneath the wings. They were odd appendages to get used to, that was for sure, but he refused to let it slow him down. He couldn't quite hide the wince as he moved, though. His back was definitely not happy about what had been done to it.]

Is anyone else here that I should know about?

[Guy gestured as he began to walk, not missing the wince but deciding to spare Asch's pride.]

[Guy went silent at that.]

[Asch was grateful that Guy didn't say anything, though he found what Guy did say surprising.]

The replica? I thought she was with the others in the tower.

[Guy shook his head, hands finding his pockets as he idly scuffed the toe of his boot against the ground as he walked.]

[Asch didn't need any further explanation. Guy was visibly uncomfortable, and he almsot didn't ask, but at the same time he hated not knowing anything about their situation.]

Why the hell would they revive your sister for some experiment?

[Guy's posture might have stiffened for just a moment before relaxing into a nonchalant shrug. His voice was perhaps a little too casual to be natural.]

[Asch fell into uncomfortable silence for a while, shuffling along behind Guy. He'd asked the wrong thing. Of course. Why the hell did he have to fail so badly at socializing?

...Right, because he hated people.]

[Guy waves his hand idly, turning to flash an easy grin at Asch over his shoulder.]

Anyways, I think that's it. Oh! Arietta's here, but...well there's something wrong with her. She thinks she's a liger...again.

[Well, small relief as it was, Guy wasn't angry. Asch resisted the urge to sigh. No sense in looking like he'd been worried. Because he hadn't been. At all.]

Figures it wouldn't be someone more useful. Has anyone been able to escape?

[Guy ruffled his hair a bit in thought.]

A lot of people -including you, I might add- have shown up only to disappear completely. ...we're not sure what happens.

[Asch snorted. Guy was probably hiding something, though with how good the man was at keeping secrets, it was hard to tell. Nearly impossible, actually. Still, he'd find out one way or another. Even if he had to talk to that useless replica.]
