[Asch is a fuzzy red glow hanging out under the bridge, waiting for his man. :|]

[It's gonna be a second since Guy has to bundle up. It's hella cold outside.

Anyways, here comes Guy up the street towards the bridge.]

[And Asch has totally been peering up sporadically, looking for him. No, he's not eager at all.

O hay there's a Guy.]

H-hey. [Guy grins as he slides down off the path and onto the bank, careful to stay away from the slush of the river. Ignore the shake in his voice, he's not distraught or anything, it's just cold.]

[Oh dear, someone's shivering. Here, have a blanket of pure fonic energy smothering you.]

Hey. Sorry, I should've gone somewhere warmer.

Don't worry about it. [Ahh, much better; the chattering of his teeth abates and Guy smiles, cheeks still pink with cold; weird, that the seventh fonon could warm without the help of the fifth. Of course, it was probably due to something ridiculously complicated like the vibration frequency of the particles and blah blah, but Guy doesn't care. Cozy! Snuggle~]

All the warmer places are inside or way up in the caves up on the mountains.

[Asch stays close and cuddled up, resting his chin on Guy's shoulder, warm cheek against Guy's, letting the vibrant warmth of his makeshift body spread around the area like a heater. His gratefulness was as obvious as a joyful trill of the flute.]

I guess most of the housing is full already. There are so many people here now.

Tell me about it; people arrive, people disappear. [Guy kind of nudges closer to Asch, both to be warm and to stay near him.] It's kind of scary, don't you think?

[Asch's grip tightens a little, half-possessive, half-needy. He's missed physical contact more than he cares to admit.]

...yeah.

[Both Asch's "physical" form and the fonons tighten a little bit, but it's not a problem.]

You arrive here and...just come to accept it. [Guy shakes his head.] Without the kidnappings, experiments and these weird little wings, this place would be wonderful.

[Asch closes his eyes, a sad resonance entering his form. He can't really help it.]

It's like a real paradise is impossible. Everywhere we go, there's conflict. But here, there's no real death, and pain is temporary... maybe that's why we accept it so easily.

Just something to make us complacent? [Guy murmurs it as if the idea just occurred to him before falling silent.]

...I don't know.

[Asch is quiet for a moment, a hush falling over the music of his soul, as if the entire orchestra is silenced as a ripple- a shudder- passes through it.]

But... I'm happy here. With no world to save, I've been able to change. If not for this place, I'd already be dead. Luceti has made me more selfish than ever.

[Silence. Then-]

I'm happy here too. ...I... [Guy hesitates; it's still really hard to talk about his darker feelings. Like he's not supposed to.]

[Asch waits for him to continue, but with the reassurance of Guy's happiness, the music starts up again, softer now, meant to soothe and relax. There isn't much he can do for Guy, but he wants to keep trying.]

I...I don't want to go back home. [There, he said it. That wasn't so hard...maybe. Of course, now that he's said it he has to rush to explain himself.]

I believed for months and months that Luke would come back; I was the only one who did, besides Tear. Just us two. But after a while I- It just got to be- [Guy sighs, ducking his head.] I'm just...tired. I'm tired of hoping for it. And now that I'm here, with you, and Luke's here too-

They don't...they don't need me there, back home. I'm really not that necessary, and that's fine. Malkuth did fine without the House of Gardios before, they'll manage now. And everyone else, Tear and Natalia and Anise -and Jade, if he goes back- they'll be fine without me. We don't really keep in touch anyhow.
