...well, Hod fell on my fifth birthday; Pere got me out and took me to St. Binah, where we stayed for a few years. I asked him why he never took me to the capital, and he said it was because he was afraid that I'd be used as a cash cow. I'd have to be taken in by a lesser noble family, and whoever got me would have my family's fortune until I came of age, so he thought it best to keep things quiet until I was a little older.
