[It's been a few days since Asch and Luke were split, and someone's finally recovered enough to wake up. There's a lot on his mind, but the first and foremost issue he takes care of, upon finding his journal by the nightstand, is:]

[After which he starts flipping through the journal to see what he's missed, since he'll be damned if he's going to fall out of bed and crawl to the kitchen for it.]

[Asch lifts his hands to grip the back of Guy's shirt, pressing his face against his chest again. He doesn't know what else to say, and even if he did, he wouldn't want to say it anyway.

He'd almost lost himself. What could be worse than that?]

[She pauses, then looks at him with a hint of a smile.] I'm happy it didn't turn out that way.

[Guy huffs a little through his nose, though it's more out of helplessness than frustration. Asch will talk when he's ready.]

[Yeah you'll be waiting a while, Guy.

But not forever, or it would get old fast. Slowly he pushes back, not moving away completely, but enough to put a bit of comfortable distance between them. He brushes a hand over his eyes and lifts his head higher.]

I need to find a way to keep it from happening again.

[Asch gets an oddly thoughtful expression on his face, gaze drifting off to the side. After a moment, he looks back at Guy.] Are you going to let me eat yet?

[Guy doesn't point out that Asch couldn't even hold the glass he offered earlier, but hands him the spoon instead and uncovers the soup.]

[He'll just focus on eating quietly for a while, not wanting to waste any time. He's too hungry to wait, anyway.]

[He hesitates briefly, meeting her gaze, then looks away awkwardly.] You're too easily pleased.
