[After getting violently ejected from his own house, Asch has set up temporary shop in Good Spirits until he figures out where to go (and whether or not to try and evict Guy and get his house back). Since Guy apparently hit his head and can't even remember working there, Asch is hoping that the bar will be the last place he'll have to worry about running into Guy again. And it's not like dealing with the shop is particularly hard; all you have to do is pour drinks and listen to people's griping, and what good is a replica if he can't do that in Asch's place? ...The listening part, anyway. Floating glasses of alcohol might give people the wrong idea.

So in short, Asch will be doing two things today: shopping and carrying groceries back to the bar to stock up, or hanging out in the bar and trying not to attempt to murder his invisible companion. Stupid drecks and their attempts at impressing him. He's not really used to being around a lot of people, so he easily forgets that he's the only one who can see Luke. Thus:]

I already told you to keep your feet on the ground. You could at least pretend to be normal.

[....]

Shut up! Stop doing that, I don't need help.

[....]

Just be quiet already!!

[...Yeah he's a little crazy in public this week.]

[Rrgh, fine, be a jerk. But in all honesty that whole "jerk" thing is really baffling to Asch - around him, he can understand it, but Guy's been acting that way sort of around everyone. So after a while (ignoring Luke's worried commentary he gives the whole talking business another try.]

What do you remember?

[Well...Guy doesn't really like Asch, but he's gotten used to talking to him at least. Van, for some reason, liked to pair he and Asch up a lot when missions required more than one God General.]

Both, I guess. But mostly Auldrant.

[Must've been something bad.

Guy takes a moment to nurse his drink before answering.]

Don't remember a lot from here, just that I've been here a while. Some people are familiar. [He gestures with his glass.] I know you are acting weirder than usual.

I remember everything from Auldrant.

[Asch glances away, brows furrowing. He doesn't remember? Asch remembers everything, albeit probably differently. Sure, it may be a little fuzzy, but...]

I don't remember you ever being in the Oracle Knights.

Then you remember wrong.

[Swig. Ugh, he can already tell where this is going to go. He should just leave.]

I'm just trying to figure out why the hell you're so angry. [God, is he this contrary with everyone? Gives a man some new perspective, that's for sure.]

[Guy's eyes snap straight to Asch's face and he freezes, the glass halfway to his mouth. Then he sets it down on the counter, folds his arms and leans against it.]

You're the last person alive I'd ever expect to say something like that to me.

But you know better. God Generals don't discuss their pasts. So it's none of your business.

[Visibly startled by Guy's reaction, Asch bites back an angry retort and lowers his gaze, feeling oddly scolded. There's something very wrong about this whole situation, but he can't figure out why, nor could he explain it. Not that he would, anyway. Not with Guy. ...This Guy, anyway.]

So you're a God-General. [He pauses, and then,] ...Gailardia.

You don't remember.

[Figures. Guy picks up his drink again and finishes it off.]

It happened differently, where I'm from. You worked in Fabre Manor instead.

What do you mean, where you're from? You're from Auldrant.

Well obviously it's a different Auldrant, or it would have the same history as yours!

Or you're confused, because I'm pretty sure I'd know what happened to me.

And I have a full set of memories, years worth, of you working at the manor before I was even kidnapped. I didn't just make it all up.

Then somebody did.

I wouldn't set foot in Baticul if my life depended on it.

[Asch glances over at him again, then away.] You did it for revenge.

Oh? What revenge would that be?

[Wait, does that mean this Guy isn't out to get revenge?] ...Killing me.

That's the only part of it that I knew. If you planned to kill my father, Van never mentioned it.

You and your father wouldn't make up for what happened. Two lives for my entire household? Don't make me laugh.

...I never said it was enough. Don't put words in my mouth. [This is too surreal. He doesn't even know what he wants to do- keep trying to get answers, leave Guy alone, or just get out as soon as possible. He's never seen Guy so bitter.]

That's insulting.

[Guy's fingers squeeze his glass as he glares at Asch, obviously bothered now that they're talking about it but unwilling to shut up because of the sheer injustice of the insinuation.]
