Hey- Buffy. I need to talk to you.

[After Guy's rather uneventful kidnapping right under their noses, Asch is feeling suitably irritated and downight volatile. He's trying to channel his temper into a more productive use, however; early in the day, he can be found stretched out on the lawn behind House 5, lying on his stomach and facing Star, the yellow cheagle. From the look of things, he's playing a rather bizarre game of fire Ping Pong with it- Star spits a fireball at him, and he uses his palm to either dissolve it or bat it back at the cheagle, who dodges deftly. Each time, Asch flicks a little treat in Star's direction, who munches it down before starting the cycle over again.

If one were to look closely, they might see a little flicker of light on Asch's palm right before the fire touches it. At his side are two swords, both sheathed; one, the Maestro sword, the other an unfamiliar katana. If caught in the moment he might actually look... relaxed, despite the situation. It's not going to last long, though.]

No, I'm not blowing holes in the house. I can control it again. [And he's doing it outside as a precaution, see? He's being good. He's only blowing holes in the grass and nearby rocks.]

[Miyabi giggles for real now. Asch, you look so funny when you make those angry faces.] Ah, that's good, but...what exactly is it, though? You never told me.

[He'll be making a lot of them at this rate.] ...It's a special power certain Seventh fonists can use. It decomposes and reforms matter.

[She pauses.] ...Asch?

[GOD it's not even that hard, Miyabi, it's only basic fonic science and the artes of theoretical sentiences. >:|]

That's not true! I remember the first time we met, you drew what your home looked like. It was really very good. I can teach you to paint, though, if you'll let me. I'm sure it'll be really fun!

[...Rrrrrm. This sounds recreational and potentially embarrassing. "Fun" is not normally in his vocabulary. Then again, knowing Miyabi, she'll probably pester or tease him about it until he agrees.]

[Ah, you really are learning, Asch! She would have indeed done those things...or just hold you against your will. Miyabi beams, her aura brightening and she gives his cheek a hug.]

Thank you, Asch! I haven't had anyone to paint with in a really long time!!

[jkhhskjdhkf n-no hugging, you pipsqueak. He waves her off awkwardly.]

If you want to paint so badly, why didn't you just paint with Ammy in the first place?

[You know you like it, Asch, you tsundere. Also, Miyabi's giving him the driest look she can possibly make right now.]

I can never get a hold of her. If she's not at her tree, then I don't know where she is. I can't exactly chase her, you know.

[NEVER ADMITTING IT. He sends that deadpan look right back at her.]

Just find her some meat. She'll come running.

[She sees your deadpan stare and raises you a tiny smirk and a chuckle.]

Or I could just let you do it. That way, you both will be together when I find you. [Two birds with one stone.]

[That's just devious, Miyabi :| Asch reddens a bit, feeling teased again.]

You'd have to be fast to do that. She eats like a fontech vacuum.

[Oh, you knew this was coming--]

...What? Mm, your world has a lot of really weird sounding things.

They're only weird because you're not from Auldrant. Your world sounds just as strange.

It's only strange because most of it is tainted... If everyone believed in the gods like we poncles do, then the gods would regain their strength and banish the evil from the world. I'm sure that was exactly what Amaterasu and Issun were doing before I came here.

You can't banish evil from a world. It's in human nature to be evil just as much as good.

Mm... [She has to think on that one for a second. He was right, after all. Her time as an adult that one time taught her that - she should have known better.]

You're right. I've been taught that the evil beings of Nippon get banished when the gods' power is restored, but...I think it's more like they're controlled. Not too much good, not too much bad.

Everything stays in balance.

Not that it isn't better if there's no evil. [Asch shrugs.] I've just never heard of a completely innocent person.

[Miyabi leans against Asch's tabard for some time, quietly playing with strands of his hair as she thinks of her response.]

I think...I would have disagreed with you a while ago. But now I know better, I think. I've done and thought bad things, just like anyone else. It's what makes people who they are. [She looks up at his face.] Do you know what a yin yang is?

...Yin yang? Never heard of it. [Sounds weird D|]

[Miyabi leaps down from his shoulder, down...down...down...and lands gracefully on both feet. What, you weren't scared, were you? She takes out her sword, and jams the point into a patch of dirt, where no grass was growing.

She began to drag the sword behind her as she walked, making a circle, then forming the familiar sign of a yin yang.]

There's a story to go with it, but I don't remember it very well. It's very old. Uhm...basically, it's the symbol for balance. The black part is darkness, and the white is light. See how each half has a small circle with the opposite color in it? I never understood that when I was little, but I think it means that even darkness contains light, and light contains darkness. One can't exist without the other.

[This...brought back memories. Miyabi remembered now when she was older, and the things she "learned" from the Dark Lord. Was she wiser for it? Maybe. Was it even real? ...Who knows.]

[Asch glances down to watch her scratch out the symbol. It's oddly familiar, but he can't quite put his finger on why. After a moment he blinks, crouching down to get a closer look.]

I've seen this before. They're symbols used in fonic artes.
