[Asch is hoping that a certain someone will get the message, but he doesn't lock it or anything. If she ignores it, it's not like he has to acknowledge it later.

...That's Asch-logic, anyway.

Message sent, though, Asch won't be sticking around the house too much today. With Luke hacking up a lung every few minutes, there's no point in trying to rest there. He'll check on Natalia first- whether she's at home or still recovering in the battle dome hospital, though whether she's in the dome or not he'll get some training done. His simulation involves being hopelessly outnumbered in a very white room full of intricate statues. And he leaves very disgruntled. (Why does he do this crap to himself, seriously.)

...He'll also raid the medical cabinets for sleeping pills, though for Luke or himself, who can tell?

On the way home he'll spend some time in the plaza picking up supplies. All in all it's a very uninteresting day in the life of Asch the Bloody.]

He nods slightly, glancing at her change of clothes before averting his eyes. She looks nice too. Very nice. But he doesn't notice that kind of thing. Damn. 8| Let's focus on the basket then.]

Are we eating here?

No, not here. Let's go elsewhere.

[And with that, she turns to lead the way!]

[Huh, alright then. He'll be following.]

Are we at least going inside?

Well, I wouldn't want you to freeze on our first outing in a while.

[Stella bumps his arm with hers as she says this, merely teasing.]

I'm not going to freeze. [Mumble grumble. He doesn't protest the bump, though, instead reaching out for the basket. Gimme, woman.]

[NOT SO FAST. Stella holds the basket up in the air as she wags her finger in a scolding fashion.] Now now, Asch, not until we get there!

[OI.] I was just going to carry it, don't overreact.

It's still a surprise.

[But fine, she'll hand it over, since he's offering. Her arm has been getting kind of tired of carrying it anyway.]

So, no peeking.

[He takes it with a slight grumble, though he refrains from checking. He can vaguely smell something tasty, though.]

Why such a secret? Food is food.

[And she just smiles over the grumbling; she finds it cute, really.]

Because surprises are more alluring! [She locks her hands behind her back and looks up at the sky as she walks.] Or bothersome, I suppose... But I'd rather see someone's eyes light up once the surprise is revealed, even if it's only food.

...Hm. [Well, that makes a reasonable amount of sense, so he glances over at her again, forgetting the basket for the moment.]

Is where we're going a surprise too, or can you at least tell me that?

Ha ha, no, no. We're going to Seventh Heaven. [She levels her head again to glance over at him.] I've already checked; there aren't many people there at all right now. The weather must've chased them off.

[Seventh Heaven, eh.] I don't think I've ever been there.

I've only been there a few times... But all of my experiences there have been pleasant. [She waves a hand at the basket.] And we won't even need to be waited on!

[Thankfully Asch's house isn't far away at all from the square, so they're already nearing the restaurant.]

[Which is good, because it's freaking cold outside. At last at the restraurant, Asch opens the door for her, glancing inside. Nope, not many people here. Good, he's not in the mood for a lot of company.]

[And Stella goes inside with a nod, already looking around for a table. Somewhere not too secluded, but not too out in the open, either. Hmmm... Ah, here we go. She'll head on over to one of the booths, then.]

[Asch pauses for a moment, getting a feel for the place first - and like a true soldier, checking for exits and ambush points D| - before following her over and sitting down. It's a bit weird; he honestly can't remember ever doing something like this.]

[Once a soldier always a soldier, eh. D| Once Asch puts the basket on the table, she gestures to it while hiding a smile behind her other hand - one of anticipation.]

You can open it now.

[Asch lifts a brow at her expression, but rather than commenting he just pulls the basket closer and opens it up.

...

There's a chicken.]

...Isn't that a lot for just two people?

[NOT WHAT YOU SAY WHEN SOMEONE COOKS YOU DINNER, ASCH]

[Stella still grins, though, because while that's not the reaction she was expecting, it's still amusing to her. She even chuckles a little as she waves her hand at the basket.]

Well, I was planning on letting you have what's left if you liked it enough!

You should take it- you're the one with a family to feed. [He wouldn't really protest though, because a) he likes chicken, and b) hell if it doesn't smell delicious. Meanwhile, he'll be pulling it out of the basket and getting some plates to dish it out.]

Oh, they have plenty of food. Didn't you see me bringing it all home earlier?

[She just folds her hands in her lap and lets him do that. There's a couple of plastic cups in there and a bottle of water, too, since she's not sure what kind of drink he might like.]

[Rrgh. She has a point there. But his nature demands resistance 8|a ...First he'll serve it up though, and pour the water. He's not going to require fancy-pants drinks, after all.

With the food out of the way, though, he's... a bit at a loss.]

...Now what?

We eat. We talk. Just like we always do.

[Come on, Asch, it's not that hard! Stella won't tease about it, though, only smile and start what she suggested - eating. Thankfully, the restaurant provides silverware at the tables, so no getting our hands dirty.]

["Always"... easier said than done. But the easy bit is the eating, so he'll just follow her lead.
