Residents of Luceti who originally came from Auldrant, and any strong healers with a deep connection to the spirit Nala who are willing to help- please respond to this. It's very important.


[Luke can be found by the river near House 5, hidden in a copse of trees, kneeling in the snow. He's pretty serious business right now.]

[It's taken hours - far too much waiting and gathering and preparing - but he's finally ready. His body's freezing cold from sitting in the snow, but he's sweating anyway; the effort of having to hold all the fonons, atoms, and curative energy together, preventing it from leaving the area and returning to those he took them from was weighing on him, badly.

But he's almost done. Just a few more steps. Just a few more...

Without uttering a word, he clenches his hands into fists, fingers tightening on his white robe for a moment, then without a word he pulls it from his shoulders, using it to cover the fonons and leaving himself wearing the black suit underneath. He barely has enough fonons to recreate Luke's body- there's none to be wasted on clothes, so he'll need something to wear.

Once he's gotten the fonons to settle, he closes his eyes and activates his hyperresonance- their hyperresonance. With the two of them joined properly, the second-order hyperresonance is at full power and full control. It's just a matter of effort.

And holding on until it's over, of course...]

[Guy, in all his experience and all his natural wisdom and grace, in all his amazing ability to empathize and connect with other people and make them feel appreciated and safe, had done something terribly selfish that day.

He'd run.

He'd heard Luke's announcement. He had a feeling he knew what it was about. But he didn't want anything to go wrong, he didn't want to get his hopes up and he didn't want to be there to encourage him. He knew it was childish, but if something happened and it didn't work, he didn't want to see him fail and blame Luke even further for something that wasn't his fault. He couldn't do it.

It simply didn't occur to him to care about how Luke felt.

However, even as he marched resolutely toward Good Spirits, determined to just let someone else handle it for once, he felt his chest grow tighter and tighter, as if someone were winding him up inside, cranking a handle until finally his gears couldn't handle it and snapped under pressure. He slowed his gait. Stopped. Stood with his head bowed and his hands clenched into shaking fists at his side.

Then he turned on his heel and ran back.]

I'm sorry, Luke, [he hissed through his teeth as he sucked in breath after breath and raced to get back to his friend's side.] I'm sorry.
