[Early in the morning, Asch is by the section of trees close to the river outside House 5, standing in the snow in just his uniform, holding the Key of Lorelei. He seems fixated on whatever it is he's doing, namely holding the Key tip-down into the snow, both hands on the end of the hilt, eyes closed as he focuses. Every few moments you might catch a slight glow around him, little more than a flicker before it fades.

Talk, harass, troll, lurk? He's open for bothering, though he won't like it. |D]

[He doesn't like failing D| or being wrong.] ...Hm.

[Guy is getting the feeling that maybe Asch is more upset about not having his hyperresonance or not knowing why than he is about Guy not knowing anyway. Which is fine.] ...Asch.

...What?

[Guy rests a hand against the trunk behind Asch, leaning down to kiss his forehead.]

[Asch blinks at that, caught off guard. He'd assumed Guy was annoyed and just keeping it to himself again.] ...What... was that for?

I need a reason to kiss you, now? [Guy moves to kiss Asch's temple instead, closing his eyes and breathing in as he buries his nose in his hair.]

[f-fff, that is embarrassing. Asch reddens and mumbles a vague disagreement, leaning in and resting his face against Guy's neck. He really was good at entertaining Guy with his fail.]

[Guy chuckles at Asch's embarrassment, a hand lifting to sift through Asch's hair.] I didn't catch that.

[Asch doesn't lift his head, but he does raise his voice a bit.] I think you enjoy this too much.

Maybe. You make yourself an easy target, after all. [Sift, sift...] But maybe I just enjoy you too much anyhow.

[Asch hums faintly again, closing his eyes and just leaning into it. If that's the case, then it's alright. Guy probably understands him better than anyone, now.]

Besides. [Guy kisses his temple again.] You looked like you needed it. ...or wanted it, at least.

[There's a brief moment where Asch starts to stumble out an annoyed protest, but between Guy's expression, tone, and the hand in his hair, he knows better. So instead he shuts his mouth and nods - faintly, almost imperceptively - and rests his head against Guy's chest.

There's just no point in arguing when they both know.]

[Asch must really be tired to not put up a fight. Guy worries on the inside of his cheek, draping an arm casually over Asch's shoulders.] ...want to head back inside? I can make you something to drink.

[Asch hesitates, glancing back towards river and the melted spot of snow, then grabs the Key of Lorelei and sheaths it before he nods.] ...Yeah, I'm finished here.

All right. [And Guy half-guides, half-steers Asch over to the house with his arm around his shoulders.]

[Asch doesn't fight against him, shuffling along inside with him. It's kind of chilly out, now that he's not distracted.]

[And Guy had noticed, thus project: Drag Asch Inside. Hopefully he'd been subtle enough that Asch wouldn't catch on to his mothering, though.] Any requests?

[Asch shrugs. Not noticing just yet.] I'm fine with anything warm.

[Tea it is. Hot chocolate is all nice and good, but it's not like they're ten years old or anything. Guy half-bullies him into the kitchen, turning on both the stove and the oven to warm the room up and retrieving the kettle from the sink.]

[Asch rests the Key against the wall closest to the bedroom hall, sitting down at the table and half-watching Guy, half-gazing out the window, looking a little lost in thought.]

[Man, Asch, you're in a weird mood today. Guy puts the water on to boil and hops up to sit on the counter, watching him.]

[It's a mood and a half, that's for sure. And if he's watching, he'll probably notice an oddly peaceful look on Asch's face.

Also the fact that he's starting to glow on and off again.]

[Peaceful is good. The glowing? Not so good, not if Asch really can somehow still use hyperresonance.] Um, Asch.

[Asch glances sidelong at him, looking like he doesn't quite get it.] What?
