[There's a brief shuffle, and a strained gasp, before a voice speaks up. Someone's back from a little excursion with John. He doesn't have the energy to lock it.]

[Okay well if they both die horribly they'll know who to blame. Guy curses and tries to hurry up the rest of the ladder; hopefully Asch will detach himself once they reach the ground so he can collapse on his back.]

[Thankfully Asch doesn't do anything crazy like dissolve the ladder, and as soon as they're out of the hole, he lets go and drops down to his knees. Holding on took way more energy than he thought it would.]

[He's still alive and after catching his breath, Guy rolls over and pushes himself up to his knees, reaching for Asch.] Are you all right?

[Asch doesn't answer at first, trying to work up the energy to get moving again.] ...I need a minute...

I can carry you back home. You should rest in a bed, not on the ground. [Guy moves to pick him up.]

[Asch bats wearily at his hand.] I said just a minute. I can walk home from here. [Well. Doubtless, he'll need help, but he can at least make it there on his own two feet. Considering the trouble they just had getting up the ladder, Guy shouldn't be carrying him anywhere.]

[Okay, fine then. Guy sits back and takes it easy; climbing that ladder had been a little hellish anyway.]

[After a moment of getting his breathing back under control, Asch drops down to sit properly, one hand braced in the grass to hold himself up.] ...You knew I was down there.

They left a note when they took you. [So it's not like he's clairvoyant or anything.

Asch may notice the smile is somewhat icy.]

[Oh, is that how it works? Convenient.

That smile is pretty hard to miss, though.] ...It's done now. I won't have to go back.

[Asch nods as if to reassure himself, absently looking down at his hands again. As if on cue the glow starts to return, and he curses, hands clenching into fists as he focuses on getting control back. Why is it being so fussy...?]

Maybe you need to get it out of your system. [Guy searches around for a bit before handing Asch a rock the size of a golf ball.]

[Asch just gives him a look at first, because what the hell, man. Hyperresonance doesn't work like that.

Then he takes the rock with an inward sigh, because goddammit, it's not like he has any better ideas.]

[Guy sits back to watch, since with Asch causing a hyperresonance isn't exactly a team sport. Not that Guy would be able to help with that anyway.]

[Asch narrows his eyes, focusing on the rock in his hands, and tries to summon the hyperresonance.

No, it's not- [And then he has to stop because his body does its own thing and completely vaporizes the poor unsuspecting rock before he can even think to finish.]

[Guy is scooting back. Because while he loves Asch, he is not down with getting vaporized because his spazzy BF can't chill out.]

[Asch studies his hands again, trying to will the hyperresonance back under his control again with minimal success.] ...It's like I don't even remember how to use it.
