[Early in the morning, Asch is by the section of trees close to the river outside House 5, standing in the snow in just his uniform, holding the Key of Lorelei. He seems fixated on whatever it is he's doing, namely holding the Key tip-down into the snow, both hands on the end of the hilt, eyes closed as he focuses. Every few moments you might catch a slight glow around him, little more than a flicker before it fades.

Talk, harass, troll, lurk? He's open for bothering, though he won't like it. |D]

[Asch glances sidelong as Guy approaches, arms crossed, then averts his eyes.] You were watching?

I was.

Are you all right?

I'm fine. [He shifts a little, knowing Guy is rarely content with the typical answer, and after a moment adds,] Just frustrated.

Because of your hyperresonance? [Or lack thereof.]

[Asch falls silent at that, trying to conceal how troubling the statement is. He never mentioned his lack of power to Guy.]

[Well, it was a little obvious what you were doing. At least, to someone who's seen it as much as Guy.] ...you gonna tell me about it?

[Asch doesn't respond for a long moment, lips pursed. Finally, he shrugs.]

I can't use hyperresonance anymore.

[If it comes as a shock, Guy doesn't show it.] I see. ...why?

You're from beyond Eldrant. You know what happened to the replica after I died.

But you were alive when you came back here. You were...bad, but you were alive.

Yeah. I remember. [He pauses; so...that had happened here, too. Apparently the Malnosso didn't bring people back in the same condition as when they died.

Or maybe Luke and Asch were just special.] So that's what happened.

He has second-order hyperresonance now. And it looks like I still can't use it at all.

...but you're alive.

I don't know. That's what I've been trying to understand, but I don't have any answers yet. Maybe it's because of Luceti itself.

[Guy frowns at that; obviously something unsettles him about what Asch said, but it doesn't look like he's talking about it.] Maybe so.

I guess Jade might be able to help, but...I also guess you don't really want to ask his help.

I'm not interested in talking to the Necromancer. [That sounds a little abrupt, so he pauses, shifting his gaze away.] ...The replica said he'd do it, though. [Not necessarily about hyperresonance, but one subject could lead to another, depending on the results.]

Well, we'll see if he gets any answers. [Guy pauses.] ...but maybe we should try to find this one on our own. Without Jade.

What are you talking about?

Well, we can't rely on him all the time. [Not to mention Guy doesn't know if he wants the answer Jade'll have to give.]

Of course not. If you have any ideas, I'm listening.

Not yet, sorry. But I'll be devoting it a lot more thought now that I know about it. [That could be taken as a reprimand, but his tone and expression are easy.]
